Hey, My Twins Babies novel Chapter 607

Winnie suddenly thought of Penny and wanted to know if there was any progress on her.

Hearing Winnie's question, Officer Lee stopped eating and looked up seriously at Winnie.

"I am going to tell you that."

"What's the matter?”

Seeing that Officer Lee suddenly became serious, Winnie was nervous.

"She is not faking the disease. The final result is not available yet, but the doctor have tentatively concluded that it is cancer."

"Cancer? What cancer?"

Winnie felt uneasy, she never thought Penny would get cancer. The news was too sudden for her to take in.

"Stomach cancer."

Officer Lee's conclusion came from the doctor.

"Stomach cancer? So it's true that she has a stomachache? But stomach cancer has nothing to do with stomachache. She should be fine after removing part of the stomach."

Winnie felt she could not accept it although it was not the final conclusion.

"That's what I told the doctor, but the doctor said if it moves to abdomen, there will be stomachache."

Officer Lee’s words were hard to accept.

Although Penny was Winnie's enemy, Winnie still remember the had beautiful days together, so she felt it was unacceptable.

"Move to abdomen?"

Winnie asked incredulously, feeling upset.

"Don't worry, Officer Chambers, the test result hasn't come out yet. The doctor said it is just preliminary diagnosis. It may not turn out so bad."

Officer Lee did not continue to say seeing that Winnie was worried.

In fact, the diagnosis might be accurate based on the doctor’s experience. But if Officer Lee continued to say, Winnie might break down.

"......"

Winnie did not continue to ask, at the moment she also hoped that the result could be another possibility and that the doctor's diagnosis was wrong.

After knowing what was wrong with Penny, Winnie had one more thing to worry about. She was worried that Penny really got a cancer.

When she was back to the company and took elevator on the 30th floor, she saw Gloria came out from another elevator.

Winnie gave a faint smile.

"You are here to see Mr. Bennet?"

She greeted politely.

"Yes, he asked me to be here, saying he has something to discuss with me. Have you just come back?"

Gloria said that the reason she came deliberately.

"I just got back from lunch. I'll talk to you some day, I gotta work now."

Winnie was still indifferent, she did not care if Gloria deliberately said that to her.

Winnie left with a smile, then Gloria entered the office of Brian.

"We're still a couple or not? It's hard to see you."

Gloria came in and joked, pretending not to know Brian and Winnie had broken up.

"You see me not"

Brian with a cold face.

"It has been a long time we didn’t meet. If you are really my boyfriend, I'm afraid we would have broken up."

Gloria saw Brian's cold face, but she did not care.

"Why are you here?"

Brian was not in the mood to joke, in addition to Winnie, he did not joke to any women.

"You're so boring. Forget it, get straight to the point."

It was not Brian asked her to be there, but she made an appointment for several days to see Brian before she came.

"My dad's company recently needs a partner, and he asked if you are interested. If so, you are the first choice, because you are his supposed son-in-law."

Gloria said in the form of a joke. She was afraid that Brian would be wary of her, so she said it as a joke, so that Brian would not mind it.

"I'll talk to your father about business myself."

The implication was that Gloria should not be in the middle.

"Sure, I don't understand it even if you talk to me. My dad thought it would be better if I told you about it. Let's have dinner tonight. And you can talk to my dad when we're having dinner."

Gloria invited Brian, in the name of business, Brian would not refuse.

"Ok, I'll arrange the time and place, and I will let you know."

Brian would not say no to official business.

"How is your relationship with your boyfriend these days?"

She wanted to go in the ward to see Penny, but the police outside did not know her, so she was not allowed to go in and she could only secretly look at Penny outside the ward.

Penny had no other obvious symptoms except for her bad complexion. Winnie doubted whether the doctor made a mistake.

Winnie went to the attending doctor of Penny.

"You are Penny's friend?"

The doctor asked Winnie.

"Yes, I'm her friend. I want to ask her about her illness."

Winnie asked the doctor with expectation, but she did not know whether the doctor could give her the answer she wanted.

"She is not good and the test result she has a cancer."

The doctor knew he was being a bit judgmental, but it was true.

"You mean she really has a cancer?"

Winnie was anxious and seemed see no hope.

"No, it's cancer, and it's already spread."

The doctor's tone was positive and firm. Regardless of what he said, it was clear from his attitude that Penny did have a cancer.

It was like that Winnie's heart suddenly fell into the abyss, which made her lost consciousness.

Winnie did not want to believe that it was true. Penny committed a crime, but the crime did not lead to death. The law didn't put her to death, but God was going to take her life.

"But she looks pretty well. She doesn't look seriously ill, except that she doesn't look well on face."

Winnie still did not want to believe that it was a fact and wondered it was a misdiagnosis.

"There are a lot of people who don't have obvious symptoms, and they have different physical conditions and different capacities. If the symptoms are obvious and caught early, there will be no terminal cancer."

The doctor answered Winnie's doubts, but also killed her last fantasy.

"Terminal cancer.? Do you mean Penny has terminal cancer?"

"Yes."

The doctor gave another blow to Winnie.

Winnie widened her eyes and felt blank in mind.

She hated Penny and wanted her to die, but at this, she did not want that to happen.

No matter what Penny had done wrong, no matter how evil she was, Winnie wanted her to be alive. Though Penny was in prison and still malicious to her, they had beautiful days together.
