As Officer Lee had hung up, Oscar came out in the ward, and the two finished watching the video together.
"I don't know why Gloria said that, but I think she is right. There should be someone to scold her and wake her up to make her see the truth."
Oscar felt that Gloria was right, if Gloria did not say such a thing, Penny would think others were biased in favor of Winnie and would hate Winnie even more because of it.
"What's the point now? She's dying, I don’t care what she will do."
Winnie, however, looked calm, wondering if Wendy and Penny were up to some new tricks together.
But in the video, Gloria had been there before Wendy and Penny had a talk.
"You are too kind, how can you insist?"
Oscar was speechless at Winnie's kindness.
"Insist on what?"
Winnie asked Oscar uncertainly.
"I mean how you insisted for so long around Brian. It was like a courtroom drama, with your attitude and character, you won't be able to survive for three episodes, but you've gotten to this point."
It was only after Oscar finished that he realized that using a courtroom drama to describe the women around Brian was simply perfect. It was only a realistic version of a courtroom drama.
Oscar surprisingly made Winnie laugh with this analogy.
"I probably am a protagonist, I guess, and the writer won't let me die."
Winnie joked, which surprised Oscar.
"Stop laughing, quit now, or you will be in trouble."
Although it was a joke, Oscar still had to remind Winnie. Brian was good in every way, but it was because he was so perfect that women flocked to him incessantly.
Winnie could not cope with for a lifetime.
"I've quit, and I've been broken up with Brian for so long, don't you know that?"
Winnie reminded Oscar that she was now someone who had nothing to do with Brian at all.
"You know for sure if you have quit or not."
Oscar turned around and went back to the ward after saying that.
Winnie cocked her head thinking about Oscar's last sentence. She had clearly quit and kept distance from Brian. Except for the kids' matter, they had no communication.
But why did Oscar still not believe her? What should she do? Should she go far away and never contact Brain again?
But she still had him in her heart even if she went far away.
It was already afternoon when Penny woke up, and what she saw when she hazily opened her eyes was Oscar and Winnie.
Her mouth opened and closed again without saying anything, Penny didn't know what to say. The ones who let her into the hospital were Gloria and Wendy, but the ones she woke up to see were Winnie and Oscar, so who was good and who was bad?
"Penny, you're awake."
Oscar came up to Penny, a smile finally appearing on his face.
"I'm fine."
Penny weakly responded to Oscar. She knew Oscar was good to her and she didn't want Oscar to worry about her.
As for Winnie, she didn't even want to give her a glance.
"Good, take care of yourself."
Winnie felt relieved. No matter what her physical condition was, at least she woke up.
"I don't want to see you, please leave."
Penny spoke grimly, her disgust coming through despite her lack of strength.
It was a bit inaccurate to say ‘disgust’, in fact at this time Penny was mentally messed up because of those words of Gloria, so she didn't know how to face Winnie.
"Okay, I'll leave. I can do anything as long as you are happy."
At this time, Penny could not be irritated at all, so Winnie would have to leave. Just as Winnie's words fell, Penny spoke again viciously.
"I will be happiest if you die right away."
"Penny, how can you ......"
"Oscar."
Oscar was about to speak up for Winnie, but Winnie stopped Oscar.
"I'll leave now, and you can pretend I'm dead."
Winnie turned and left after giving a glance at Winnie.
She was living a painful life now, if she could let go of everything, she wished she was dead. If she had nothing to hold on to, it wouldn't matter if she died.
Winnie went straight home after leaving the hospital, and only when she got home did she realize that Brian and the kids were at her house. Seeing Brian reminded her of Penny's hospitalization.
Winnie unconsciously put the blame on Brian.
"Come to my room."
Winnie's attitude eased, and her voice became small.
Hearing that, Brian know why she was annoyed, it was because she was worried about Penny.
Brian slowly walked up to Winnie.
"You're in a bad mood because you're worried about her, and since that's the case, I'll take responsibility for whatever it is."
Brian didn't ask what happened, and since he had made Winnie unhappy, he was willing to be the one responsible unconditionally.
Winnie looked up right into Brian's concerned eyes, causing her to be lost in thought for a moment, even mistakenly thinking that Brian was centered on her.
Winnie withdrew her gaze followed by another sigh.
"You don't even know what happened, but you take the blame."
"It was Gloria who made Penny faint, but Wendy was there too."
After thinking twice, Winnie still felt that she should talk to Brian about it. Even if they argued, even if they didn't have the chance to say anything, but with the three of them coming together, Winnie was still worried that there was another conspiracy.
This conspiracy was either against her or against Brian, so she should remind him so that both herself and Brian would be prepared.
"You're saying the three of them were together?"
Brian was surprised, since the three of them were together, there was nothing good would happen.
"Right."
"Penny's nanny said that Gloria scolded Penny, saying she'd be better off dead sooner than later. And they argued about me and you."
"Gloria said that Penny spoiled her plan, so she would not let Penny go. If Penny died early, she still has a chance to be with you."
Winnie repeated Gloria's words, but she could only say what the nanny had told her, not what she had seen from the surveillance video.
"Delusions, not to mention Penny's death, I won't be with Gloria even if all the women in the world are dead."
Brian was angry, being fought over by women wasn't something to brag about, but being targeted by a woman like that made him feel disgraced.
"If you think so, you should make it clear and not give them any illusions. Although you didn't direct this incident, it's a fact that it started because of you."
Winnie knew that saying was unfair to Brian, but it was true.
He said that he didn't like Gloria, and since so, he should show his attitude.
"I didn't know that Gloria was to cooperate with us, but I quit immediately after I found out. The people in charge of working with their company now are Albert and Jack."
"I was afraid that Gloria likes me, so I quit. And I made it very clear when our partnership ended, but I had no control over what she would do."
