Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father novel Chapter 237

S2 67. Interrogation for Philip

“My parents are not as rich as you, Sir. Since they died, I had to be independent. But that’s what made me strong,” Philip said sadly.

But a second later, his hands clenched into fists. His gaze was tinged

with confidence.

“My skills are not many. I can only fight, swim across the strait, or jump from a plane. But I can make sure that your daughter is safe with me.”

“So you have nothing to support my daughter?”

“Dad,” Barbara grimaced.

Philip blinked stiffly. “I have an apartment and some savings. And with my current salary, I think your daughter can live well.”

“You mean the inherited apartment?” Paul’s eyebrows rose.

Barbara sighed faintly. Her worry grew deeper. However, seeing Philip shake his head, she was amazed.

“No, Sir. My own apartment. I started paying it in installments whe worked as a bodyguard for the Harper family. It’s not one buildi just one floor. But soon, the installments will be paid off.”

“How much do you have in savings?”

Barbara’s admiration was suddenly shattered. “Your questions are too much, Dad,” she whispered.

However, Paul raised his hand. “No, Darling. This is a fair question. I need to know what your future looks like. I can’t possibly hand you over to a man who can’t support his family.”

“Is a billion enough? I spent quite a lot on the apartment in

installments.”

While Paul dropped his jaw, Barbara sighed in disbelief, “You’ve been saving since you were born?”

“I’ve only been able to save since working at Savior. That’s the rest of my expenses. Am I not enjoying life enough?” Philip muttered at the

end.

Barbara shook her head and chuckled. “I think my mother and I need to learn saving from you. You are great, Philip.”

“What’s so great? He holds three positions at once, and he doesn’t like shopping. It’s natural that he has that much savings.”

While Barbara scowled, Paul stepped forward. His hand was placed on Philip’s shoulder.

“Please look after my daughter! I can’t take her home because there’s no one to look after her there. But here, can I entrust the task to you?”

Philip’s eyes widened. He glanced at Barbara briefly. The girl also wore the same expression.

“You approve of our relationship?” Barbara sighed.

Paul smiled. “Yes. Isn’t this man the one who made you chan think there’s no harm in giving him a chance.”

Philip let out a sigh of relief. With a wider curve of his lips, he nod firmly. “Thank you, Sir. I won’t let you down. I will take care of Barba the best I can.”

Suddenly, Paul’s finger pointed upwards. “But remember! I gave you trust, not freedom. If you dare to do anything to my daughter, you will regret it.”

Philip straightened his back. His chin was slightly raised, “Don’t

worry, Sir. I can’t possibly hurt her. I will protect her with all my soul.”

Chuckling, Paul patted Philip’s arm. Barbara could see the happy look in her father’s eyes.

“Dad, thank you for accepting Philip,” Barbara sighed, full of emotion.

Paul smiled. Carefully, he hugged his daughter. “I will do anything for your happiness, Darling.”

While closing her eyes, Barbara soaked in the warmth. She was grateful that her father was different from her mother.

“Sorry I made you worry,” she whispered.

“It’s not your fault, Darling. It was your mother who went too far. It’s no wonder Frank sent her to a rehabilitation center. She really needs

mental healing.”

Barbara’s smile suddenly disappeared. Her eyes trembled, waiting for an explanation. “Rehabilitation center?”

While Philip sighed heavily, Paul froze. “Your brother hasn’t told you?”

Paul just realized he had revealed a secret. Knitting his eyebrows, he stroked his daughter’s hair.

“I think Frank didn’t want to burden you. He was forced to send h there. Her actions could no longer be tolerated. She could end up harming others if she continued.”

Barbara was pensive. Her heart was blue. “I can’t imagine Mom is in that kind of place.”

“Don’t worry, Darling. Frank’s decision was right. Your mother is sick. That’s the best way for her.”

Barbara’s face darkened. No more light radiated from her eyes.

“No wonder Kara said that whoever gets better first can visit the others. It turns out I’m not the only one being treated.”

Barbara’s lips began to tremble. She quickly bit it so as not to invite

sadness.

“Why didn’t I suspect anything earlier? Brother even said clearly that he asked an expert to treat Mom’s mental condition.”

Suddenly, Barbara let out a sigh of disgust. “I am now not only the daughter of a criminal, but also the daughter of a mad woman?”

Philip grabbed Barbara’s hand. “Hey, your mom isn’t crazy. She’s just a little shaken up.”

Barbara’s eyes filled with tears. She didn’t expect Philip to comfort

her.

“Aren’t you embarrassed about dating someone with a mental disorder?” Her voice was hoarse.

Paul quickly interjected. “Why say that, my daughter? You are different from your mother.”

“But I’m embarrassed, Dad. What will people say if they find out? Where will I put my face? I can barely stand facing Philip.”

“Hey,” Philip wiped Barbara’s tears, “you know what? You should think about what people think. They don’t really care about you.”

Paul remained silent, listening to how Philip comforted his daugh

“Those who truly care about you will never insult you. Your broth your sister-in-law, the twins, and me. Have we ever insulted you? No right?”
