S31 92. Don’t Be Shy
“If you’re not friends, I think that’s okay. You can be a boyfriend and girlfriend. Ava is a good person, Uncle,” Louis nodded reassuringly.
Emily imitated him. “And she’s also beautiful and kind. Ava suits you well, Uncle.”
As Ava and Jeremy fell silent, Kara laughed lightly. “Little Angels, how about we catch up with Philip? Poor Uncle Jeremy and Ava if you keep teasing them. They could turn into boiled crabs.”
“That’s a great idea, Mommy.” A second later, Emily took Ava’s hand. ” Come on, Auntie. Let’s go together. Don’t be shy with us.”
Instead of following the little girl, Ava politely let go of her hand. Her face frowned, showing reluctance.
“What’s wrong, Ava?” Emily asked in a disappointed tone. Her shoulders even drooped slightly.
“Sorry, Emily. I can’t come with you I’ve been away from my mother and your grandmother for too long. I have to go home now.”
“Mrs. Bell is looking after them. You don’t need to worry,” Louis shook his head slowly.
“Yes, but that is my job, not hers. I can’t neglect my duties even if someone else can do it. So, I have to go home immediately. You don’t mind, right?” Ava grimaced, hoping for understanding.
The twins sighed. “Okay then.”
Ava felt guilty seeing that gloomy face. However, she knew she was doing the right thing.
“By the way, I’m glad you’re safe. I heard your adventure was great.”

“Yeah, Emily and I actually have a lot of interesting things to tell you.
But since you have to go now, maybe another time.”
Ava sighed helplessly. She glanced at Kara. The woman smiled calmly at her.
“It’s okay, Ava. You’ve waited here long enough. Thank you for helping me look after Barbara. When you get home, don’t go straight to work. Just take a rest. Mrs. Bell must have taken care of your pending work.
“Thank you, Madam. See you later, Everyone.” Ava waved at the twins.
Louis and Emily waved back. “Bye, Ava, Uncle Jeremy.”
Ava’s eyes instantly widened. “Your uncle? No, no. He doesn’t-”
“I have to see my mother too. She must be worried. Let’s go together. Besides, my job here is finished, right, Frank?”
“Right.” Frank nodded swiftly. His lips twitched, having difficulty holding back a smile.
Seeing Ava’s awkwardness, the twins whispered. After that, their expressions became cheerful again. However, they didn’t say anything else. They leaned on Kara, like spoiled little children.
“Mommy, let’s follow Philip. We can’t miss any information about his
examination.”
“Yeah, sure.”
After the little family left, the atmosphere became frozen again. Aval and Jeremy occasionally stole a glance, hoping the other would speak first. In the end, Jeremy gave up.
“Shall we go now?”
“Yeah,” Ava walked first. She didn’t want to be found awkward.

However, in the car, she was completely frozen. Moreover, when they arrived, Vivian welcomed her like a good mother-in-law to her daughter
-in-law.
“Ava,” Vivian hugged her even though Jeremy was there. Why didn’t she approach her son first?
“How are you? You’re fine, right? Gosh, what’s wrong with your hand?” Vivian ran her slender fingers over Ava’s wound which had been treated with red medicine.
Ava blinked awkwardly. “I’m fine, Madam. It’s not serious.”
“No, Dear. Healthy skin is very important for women. We have to treat your wounds seriously so they don’t leave scars. And your temple? Oh my God! Why is it bruised like this?”
Ava touched her temple and looked down. “Maybe it was hit, but it’s not a serious problem, Madam. The examination results show that my head was only slightly injured.”
“Are you sure? You don’t feel dizzy or nauseous?”
Ava nodded slightly. “I’m fine, Ma’am. Thank you for your concern.
Nevertheless, Vivian still sighed heavily. Her eyebrows knitted even tighter.
“Jeremy, why were you so careless? You should be taking good care of the girl you’re with. Why did you end up causing her to have a terrible accident like that?”
Jeremy
was stunned. He thought his mother would ask about his condition. Turned out she’s just grumbling?
“I don’t want that accident to happen either, Mom.” He didn’t accept being blamed.
“Sorry, Ma’am,” Ava interrupted unexpectedly. “It wasn’t his fault. I

was the one who made him less alert.”
Vivian’s head was pressed backwards. “You made him less alert? What were you two doing?”
“Just a small argument,” Jeremy interrupted before his mother could imagine something absurd. “But never mind. Please don’t talk about it anymore, Mom. The important thing is that we’re safe.”
“You guys fighting?”
Jeremy quickly turned his mother’s shoulders to face the door. “I’ll explain later. Now let her have a rest. She’s very tired today.”
However, Vivian escaped from Jeremy. She turned around and stood by Ava’s side.
“Jeremy, it’s not me you have to accompany in, but Ava. Take
responsibility for your negligence in looking after her. Take her to her room.”
Ava’s eyes widened. “I can do it myself, Ma’am.”
“Yes, she can walk on her own. It’s her head and hands that are injured, not her legs.”
Vivian yanked Jeremy’s arm and whispered, “Don’t make excuses. Just follow what I say. Take her now.”
“Sorry, Madam. I want to check my mother’s condition first. So, Mr. Jeremy doesn’t need to take me to my room.” Ava smiled as best she
could.
“Well then,” Vivian put Jeremy’s hand on Ava’s arm, “let Jeremy take you to your mother’s room. He owes you both an apology. So, he has to make sure you are okay when you arrive in front of your mother.”
“What kind of reason is that?” Jeremy grumbled to himself. Tired of facing his mother, he finally complied. “Okay, let’s go to your mother’s
