Hiding the Twins from Their Billionaire Father novel Chapter 350

S31 93. Jeremy Cares About Me?

“What?” Ava turned around with her face still wrinkled. However, when she saw her mother, she gasped.

“Mom?” Ava walked stiffly towards the bed. With teary eyes, she

grabbed Mrs. Connor’s fingers. “You’re awake?”

Mrs. Connor blinked. Her fingers moved slightly. Seeing that response, Ava’s laughter spread into the air.

“Oh my God! The miracle I’ve been waiting for has finally come.” Ava hugged her mother and shed tears. “Oh, thanks God. Thanks.”

She kissed her mother repeatedly. Her hand gripped the weak fingers as if she was reluctant to let go.

“Thanks for waking up, Mom. Thanks for sticking around for a few months. You’re amazing.”

After wiping her eyes, she looked at her mother closely. “Do you need anything? Do you want something to drink? Are you thirsty?”

Mrs. Connor opened her mouth with difficulty. Her jaw was stiff. She hadn’t used it for too long. At that moment, Ava gasped.

“Wait. This isn’t right. I can’t immediately offer you a drink. Doctor has to examine you first.”

Ava patted her mother’s shoulder, ignoring the movement of her lips. ” Can you wait a moment? I have to call the doctor. I promise it won’t take long.”

Suddenly, Jeremy touched Ava’s arm. “Let me call the doctor. You stay here. Accompany your mother.”

For the first time, Ava looked at Jeremy with unusual gaze-calm and

full of emotion.

“You don’t mind?” Even her voice was softer.

Jeremy shrugged his shoulders. “It’s an easy job.”

However, before Ava responded again or Jeremy took out his phone, Mrs. Connor turned her palm. When they turned around, her lips trembled, as if she wanted to say something.

“Yes, Mom?” Ava put her ear closer.

“Where is… Eva?”

In an instant, the joy on Ava’s face dimmed. “Oh… Eva?”

Her tongue suddenly went numb. Her hands were clenched tightly as she filled her tight lungs.

Jeremy frowned at that. “Did I hear correctly? Eva? Not Ava?” he thought.

Ava cleared her throat. Blinking, she tried to return her smile.

“Eva’s not here. I’ll let her know later. You don’t need to worry. She’ll definitely be here soon.”

Mrs. Connor blinked languidly. Her breathing seemed heavier. Her eyes even shifted, no longer looking at Ava.

Seeing her mother’s attitude, Ava froze. Longing filled her sad eyes again. Without realizing it, Jeremy looked at her with pity.

“Ava, are you okay?”

The girl quickly straightened her head and raised her eyebrows.” Yeah. Why aren’t I?”

Jeremy clearly saw the disappointment in her eyes. However, not wanting to interfere, he sighed helplessly. “I’ll call the doctor.”

“Wait.”

Jeremy flinched. He didn’t expect Ava to be able to hold his arm.

“Yes?” he said stiffly. His eyebrows were arched high.

“Let me contact the hospital. The doctor will definitely ask about my mother’s condition. I know better,” Ava said without meeting Jeremy’s gaze. Then, before Jeremy answered, she nodded. “Please look after my mother.”

With her head bowed, she walked out. Jeremy could only stare at her back while breathing heavily.

“What really happened between this mother and daughter?” he muse

Out of the corner of his eye, Jeremy studied the thin woman. After a moment of silence, he pulled a chair and sat beside the bed.

“Hello, Mrs. Connor. How are you feeling?”

The woman moved her eyes towards Jeremy. Worried that she was having trouble looking at him, Jeremy adjusted the mattress angle.

“You may be wondering who I am and where you are. If you don’t mind, let me introduce myself and tell you a little story.”

Mrs. Connor’s brows frowned slightly. However, the twinkle in her eye signaled Jeremy not to stop.

“I’m Jeremy Harper. You’re currently at my house.”

Mrs. Connor’s eyes turned confused, Jeremy understood that.

“Over the last few months, your daughter has had a long journey. In short, she has helped our family a lot. So, we repay her kindness by

guaranteeing your safety, by treating you here.”

Connor’s eyebrows furrowed slightly again.

“Yes, this place is just a villa. But the doctors and nurses come

periodically to check your condition. Apart from that, Ava takes care of you. She is a professional nurse.”

Suddenly, the curve of Jeremy’s lips widened. His gaze was a bit dreamy.

“You are very lucky to have a daughter as good as Ava, Ma’am. She loves you very much. Even though your condition didn’t show any change, she was so patient and never gave up. When you made significant progress, Ava was the happiest person in the world.”

After a blink, Jeremy looked back at Mrs. Connor. “She takes so much care of you, Madam. It’s not uncommon for her to fall asleep in this chair. Sometimes, I even think she cares more about you than herself. It’s no wonder she cried with joy when she saw you awake.”

Suddenly, Mrs. Connor’s lips opened again. Jeremy thought the woman was about to reply to him. However, what was heard instead was, “Where’s… Eva?”

Jeremy was stunned. He was talking about Ava, but why was she asking someone else?

“Sorry, Madam. I don’t know who Eva is. During the time you were treated here, no one ever visited you. Ava was the only person who paid attention to you.”

Mrs. Connor exhaled quickly. It sounded displeased. “You’re… Ava’s… boyfriend?” she asked hoarsely.

Jeremy’s eyebrows pressed against his forehead. Then, with a faint snort, he shook his head. “No.”

The next second, Jeremy didn’t budge. His contemplation made Mrs. Connor even more curious. “So?”
