S31 139. Emotional Outburst
Suddenly, Emily started crying again. Her shoulders drooped. Her face looked up at Jeremy.
“Uncle, Eva smeared rotten tomatoes on my face. I’m really afraid of ruining my skin. Ava said I’ll be fine. But I’m still upset.”
“Did you know, Uncle? Previously, Eva threw a water gun at Emily. It hit Emily in the head. Luckily she was wearing a helmet. But Emily fell. Look! Her trousers are dirty.” Louis pointed towards his younger sister’s knees.
Seeing that, Jeremy’s hands clenched tightly. While gritting his teeth, he looked at Eva. There was no more patience left in his heart.
“You have violated the rules. According to the agreement, you must leave.”
Eva sighed in disbelief. The look on her face showed that she was the one who was tormented.
“Are you happy now? You brought me trouble. When I defended myself, I was the one to blame.”
“You’re not defending yourself, Eva. You’re giving vent to your
emotions.”
Eva’s gaze turned to Ava. “Who wouldn’t be emotional if they had a sibling like you? While other people are happy that their sibling is happy, you are in pain.”
Lifting her chin, Eva turned to face Ava. Her feet shifted closer. “Admit it! All this time, you have been jealous because Mom loves me more. Because of that, you always show off to me. You want to prove that you are superior to me.”

Ava shook her head. “That’s your hallucination. You’re the one who behaved like that towards me. You shouldn’t be jealous of me, Eva. Mother loves you much more.”
“You still want to deny it?” Eva raised an eyebrow. “Don’t you realize what you’re doing? You’re trying to chase me away! And that’s because you don’t want me to experience the luxury your lover offers.”
Hearing the rising tone of voice, Jeremy protected Ava behind his back.
“Enough. Don’t make a fuss in my house. While I’m still asking nicely, pack your things and leave this house.”
Jeremy’s tone tended to be flat. However, to Eva’s ears, his voice was full of disdain.
“Wow! You’re kicking me out? You want to know one thing? Without you doing it, I’m leaving. I’m sick of seeing you guys. I regret deciding to stay here. So, bye!”
Eva waved her hand then turned around. Unexpectedly, Jeremy held her arm.
“Hey? What is this? You have kicked me out, but now you’re
preventing me from leaving? Do you secretly have feelings for me or what?”
Eva jerked his arm away. However, Jeremy didn’t want to let go. His gaze became even sharper.
“I won’t let you go until you explain what happened to your wrist?”
Jeremy raised Eva’s hand in front of their eyes. Seeing the scar there, Eva gasped.
“This….”
Her tongue suddenly became numb. Her brain was frozen. She didn’t
expect that the foundation used to cover the wound could fade because of the water spray.

Meanwhile, Avȧ looked back and forth at Jeremy and Eva. “What’s wrong with her wrist?”
Eva’s throat became even drier. Her mouth quivered, having difficulty making a sound. “It … must have been injured because of those two brats.”
“How could you hurt your wrist from the water spray?” Jeremy raised an eyebrow.
While Eva stuttered, he showed her wrist to Ava. Seeing the scratches there, Ava gasped. “Jeez, Eva. You were really kidnapped?”
“No.” Eva shook her head swiftly. “Why do you conclude like that? This wound has nothing to do with that incident.”
“Incident?” Jeremy interrupted in an intimidating tone. “Does it really happen?”
Eva shook head faster. Before she had time to reason, Jeremy opened his palm in front of her.
“Where’s your phone?”
Eva’s eyes widened. “M-my phone? What are you asking for my phone for?”
With just one glance, Jeremy ordered two bodyguards to restrain
Eva’s arms. Another one quickly searched her. Not finding the phone, he rushed to her room.
“Wait a minute! You can’t check my phone. That’s an invasion of privacy!”
“If you don’t hide anything, you don’t need to be afraid of us checking your phone.”

But, there are photos of me there. You men are not allowed to see them.” Eva’s face started to panic.
“Then, let me check it,” Ava said stiffly. Her cold eyes started to fill with tears. She was not ready to accept the fact that her suspicions were true.
“Uncle,” Louis called suddenly, “has Eva really been kidnapped? Is she a bad person? If she’s on our side, it’s impossible for Mrs. Moore to let her go. Daddy said the Moore family will only release someone if that person obeys their orders.”
Eva’s face grew paler. If Louis could say that, Jeremy would definitely think so.
“No, I wasn’t kidnapped at all. I got this wound because I was hit by the water gun earlier. I accidentally hit my hand when I was running after you.”
However, Jeremy paid no attention. When the guard came to bring her phone, he asked, “Is there something?”
After stopping, the guard showed Eva’s phone screen.
“There is an unknown number here. Miss Connor contacted it several times, both by phone and message. However, the messages have been deleted.”
Eva laughed softly. “See? There’s no evidence. You can’t accuse me.”
“Can you check the deleted messages?” Jeremy ignored Eva again.
The guard nodded. Then, he looked down, downloading something. Eva’s eyes widened again. Before she could speak, the bodyguard said, “This number belongs to one of Patricia Moore’s loyal assistants.”
Eva swallowed hard. As best she could, she forced a laugh. ”

Nonsense. How could I possibly have contact with that guy? We’ve never met before.”
“How do you know that the assistant is a man if you two have never met?” Louis pursed his lips.
Eva froze. Her eyebrows could no longer be raised any higher. “Aren’t assistants mostly men?”
“Done, Sir.” The guard handed Eva’s phone to Jeremy.
