S3| 157. Moment of Celebration
Everyone stopped dancing. They glanced at the exit door. Only Frank made the way through the crowd. The others followed after they got their senses back. Seeing Ava wiping her mouth on the dirty floor, their eyes widened.
“What happened?” Frank approached Jeremy.
Jeremy took Ava to the nearest chair, handing her a handkerchief. “I don’t know. Ava said that her head was dizzy, then I gave her water. After drinking, she felt nauseous. Before she reached the toilet, she was already vomiting,” he explained later.
Suddenly, Louis gasped. “Did Ava drink poison? What water did she
drink earlier?”
“I don’t think Ava was poisoned, Louis. I got her a new glass. If the water in the dispenser was poisoned, the guests would have vomited too.” Jeremy pointed to the container where he had taken the water.
Secretly, Emily glanced at Eva. Her thin eyebrows furrowed. “I also think so. Eva is a good person now. She couldn’t have poisoned anyone. There are no bad people at this party, Louis.”
Eva nodded quickly. “Yes, I can’t possibly put poison in food or drink here. I also eat and drink!”
“Then if it’s not poison, what made her vomit?” Louis glanced at Ava. His hand gripped his chin, like a detective who was thinking hard.
“Where’s Wela?” Frank looked back.
“Here!” A hand shot up in the air.
While Wela checked on Ava, Barbara, who had just arrived, frowned at the messy floor. “Oh, gosh! Who threw up?”

The twins pointed at Ava in unison.
“Please don’t be angry, Auntie. Ava said she was nauseous and dizzy.”
“Yeah, she didn’t mean to ruin the party,” Louis nodded, reassuringly.
“No, no. I’m not angry. Just curious. So,” Barbara stood at Louis’ side, observing Ava more closely, “what’s making Ava nauseous and dizzy? Is she pregnant?”
Everyone immediately stared wide-eyed at Barbara.
“Pregnant? Is that possible?” Abigail said.
“But Uncle Jeremy and Ava aren’t married yet. How could Ava be pregnant?” Louis scratched his temple.
While the adults smiled in amusement, Emily replied, “That’s possible, Louis. Mommy gave birth to us before she married Daddy.”
Kara and Frank glanced at each other. They cleared their throats, then changed the topic by asking the doctor, “How is it, Wela?”
Wela smiled faintly. “No signs of poisoning were observed. I think Barbara’s right. Ava is pregnant, but she needs to do a test for more definite result.”
In an instant, the room was filled with faint whispers. Only Vivian al Diana spoke their hearts out loud.
“What? Ava is pregnant? I’ll be holding a grandchild soon?”
“And I’ll have another great-grandchild soon?”
Accompanied by joyful laughter, Vivian and Diana hugged each other tightly.
“Congratulations, Vivian. You’ll be a grandmother.”
“Oh, thank you. This is very touching. Look! Tears are coming out of
my eyes.”

While the two women encouraged and congratulated each other, Louis looked up at Kara. “What do you think, Mommy? Is Ava really pregnant even though she isn’t married to Uncle?”
Ava looked down, hiding her blushing face. Noticing her, Kara nodded. “I think that’s true. But we have to wait for the test result to be more
certain.”
In an instant, laughter filled the atmosphere. The twins jumped up
and down. Their fists bounced in the air.
“Woohoo! Emily and I are going to have a little cousin! Our family is getting bigger.”
“Louis and I are going to be big brother and sister!”
Seeing the excitement of the people around him, Jeremy’s eyes filled with tears. He held Ava’s hand tightly. When the emotion within him, peaked, he gave her a warm hug. He didn’t care how many people watched. He couldn’t deny his feelings.
“Thank you, Ava. You make me so happy.”
Ava blinked against her lover’s shoulder. She still couldn’t believe what people were concluding.
“But that’s not certain yet, Jeremy. This could be a symptom of fatigue. Don’t get too excited,” she whispered softly, afraid to disappoint. Only Jeremy and Wela heard.
“When was your last period, Ava?”
Ava’s eyes twitched. “I don’t remember.”
Wela snorted in amusement. “Then what else do you doubt?”
“We only did it once,” she said quietly. “It worked right away?”

“Frank and Kara also did it once. Look at the results. Two at once,” Wela glanced at the twins who were now in Frank’s arms.
“If you’re not sure, let’s buy a test pack, hmm?” Jeremy raised an eyebrow.
With mixed feelings, Ava nodded. Her slightly pouty lips curved awkwardly.
While everyone was engrossed in their own conversation, Barbara glanced at Philip. “I really didn’t think Jeremy and Ava could get ahead of us,” she whispered.
“Do you mind? Or do you want to follow their steps soon? I’m ready. I’m your husband now. We can do that without fear of sin,” Philip nodded mischievously.
Realizing their legal status as husband and wife, Barbara’s cheeks turned red. “Let’s not talk about it now, Phil. There are plenty of
people who can hear.”
“Then when do you want to discuss it? Tonight? Five minutes before practice?”
Barbara pinched Philip’s stomach. “Don’t mess around. There are still lots of guests here.”
“What’s wrong with discussing that? We’re not planning anything evil? We’re planning to have children.”
Barbara covered Philip’s mouth. “Let’s get back to the dance floor. Continue the party and let Jeremy Ava have their moment.”
A second later, Barbara’s finger pointed upwards. “Music!”
As upbeat music filled the room, Louis’ eyes lit up.
“Oh, this music is perfect for celebrating a party. Daddy, Mommy, let’s dance!” Louis pointed to the dance floor.
