His Destructive, Toxic Love novel Chapter 633

After ending the call, Eliza stretched her back, turned on her computer, and dove into her work. Meanwhile, the man on the other end stubbed out his cigarette, grabbed his car keys, and with a roar of the engine, sped away from Welton Estate.

The night in Falconridge was so quiet and deep it felt like the air itself carried a touch of mystery. As he sped through the streets, the streetlights flashed by like a staccato rhythm, casting shadows that danced with urgency and intrigue. Eventually, he smoothly navigated his way into a high-end neighborhood.

*Ding-dong.* The doorbell rang unexpectedly. Eliza, still absorbed in her computer, only moved after the third ring. Barefoot, she wandered to the door, curiosity piqued. Who could it be at this hour? Surely not Chelsea, showing up tipsy again, ready to cause a scene?

“Chelsea, not to be rude, but…” she started as she opened the door, only to freeze when she saw Casper standing there. Instinctively, she moved to close the door.

Casper leaned casually against the doorframe, stopping the door with his hand, a slightly apologetic smile playing on his lips. His voice was soft, “I just came to see you, no other reason.”

“I’m heading to bed, maybe another time,” she insisted, trying to shut the door once more.

Casper slipped inside, persistent as ever. “I’ll just be a minute, won’t keep you up,” he assured her.

Realizing it was futile to resist, Eliza let him be. She returned to the living room, settled back at her computer, and resumed checking her emails.

Casper scooted closer, trying to make conversation. “Work got you busy these days?”

“Yeah, pretty hectic,” she replied, clearly not interested in chatting.

He edged nearer again. “I heard you’re heading to Paris soon?”

Feeling his warm breath near her ear, Eliza shut her laptop with a sigh. “What’s it to you? Don’t even think about snooping around our projects. That’s illegal, you know.”

“Of course not! I wouldn’t dream of doing anything against the law,” he replied, seeing her wary expression. Still, he moved closer, “Let’s just have a little chat?”
