Elliot covered the microphone on his phone, then hung up.

Hayden knew the entire time that Layla was the one who took the box, so he must have already known about the box's contents.

He suddenly recalled that the reason why he almost strangled Hayden to death was that Hayden had said that he was sick.

He did not think about why Hayden would say such a thing at the time. Now that he thought about it, he was a complete idiot!
