Avery's eyes widened in surprise, his heart rate picking up.
The flush on Evadne's cheeks disappeared as she glared at Thaddeus. "Thaddeus! How can you be so shameless and yet so unfazed? Let go of me. I'm not going with you!"
No matter how much she resisted or cursed, Thaddeus' expression remained unchanged. He was determined to take her away.
Seeing Evadne in the same room with a strange man, drunk and unconscious, Thaddeus couldn’t stand it.
"Thaddeus! You jerk, let me go!"
However, this man of action didn't say much more. He lowered his tall body and hoisted Evadne onto his shoulder. His strong arm circled her tight thighs, and he turned and walked out with a calm face.
"Let me, um, I'm going to throw up!"
Evadne tried to hit Thaddeus's broad back. The discomfort in her stomach made her want to vomit, and she felt so sick that she was about to cry.
"Go ahead. Puke wherever you want." Thaddeus’ eyes were emotionless. He had no sympathy for her.
It was good if she vomited. It would be a punishment for her.
When they disappeared from the box room, Avery's thin lips pressed together, and his eyes were filled with anger.
"He's such an eyesore, a rude bastard."
"Mr. Chambers, what should we do now? Should we follow them?" the secretary asked nervously.
"Send someone to follow them."
Avery's voice was a bit lazy. He was still holding the water cup that Evadne had drunk from, his fingers rubbing the faint red lipstick on the rim of the cup.
"It's unexpected. Thaddeus is actually married!" the secretary said incredulously, "When did this happen? Why haven't we heard anything?"
"Check it out."
Avery took a sip of water from the cup in his hand. His tone was slow and his eyes behind the glasses were cold. "Check what Thaddeus has been doing these years, and what their relationship is now."
Thaddeus planned to take Evadne back to his own box room, but considering Jareth was there, he decided to take her out of the KTV directly.
Along the way, some waiters and customers saw this, but no one dared to ask. They thought it was a couple having a spat, playing some kind of kinky game.
"Thaddeus. I'm going to throw up. I feel so sick."
Evadne felt dizzy from being shaken. She felt like she was seasick, and her soft voice echoed in his heart.
Thaddeus felt a surge of warmth in his chest, and his throat rolled, "Evadne, you wouldn't be in this state if you hadn't started this."
As soon as he put Evadne down, she immediately pushed him against the car door.
Thaddeus' breathing suddenly became heavy. She raised her rosy face. Her hands were on his firm chest, and her long fingers slowly clenched.
The next second.
"Ugh!" Thaddeus was shocked. "You!"
Evadne suddenly leaned forward, vomiting all the Japanese food in her stomach onto his clean suit!
The smell of seafood and alcohol made Thaddeus want to vomit, and his face suddenly became dark!
Alright, she actually used him as a handrail!
"Thaddeus, are you a ghost? Why do you always pester me? Leave me alone, I feel uncomfortable seeing you!"
Taking advantage of Thaddeus' distraction, Evadne broke free from his hand. She put on a frightened and helpless look and started making up stories.
"I accidentally vomited on this gentleman's clothes. I've made it clear that I'm willing to pay for the cleaning, but he just won't let me go. He's been keeping me from leaving."
"Sir, do you know your actions constitute harassment? We have the right to detain you!"
Thaddeus was surrounded by two police officers and could not leave. He took a deep breath and said, "I'm not a bad person. I know her!"
"Miss, do you know him?" The police officer looked at Evadne kindly.
Evadne shook her head tearfully. "No."
The police officer looked at him contemptuously. "Your actions are obviously malicious. You must come with us!"
At this point, Thaddeus' phone rang in his pocket. It was a call from Frederic.
He straightened up and picked up the phone with trembling hands.
"Where are you? Come back now!" Frederic's voice was tense. "Acacia has committed suicide! She slit her wrist! She's losing blood and they're trying to save her at the Elmsworth Hospital!"
Thaddeus felt like he'd been struck by lightning, his face turning pale in an instant.
"Thaddeus, can't you sort out your love life? You have Acacia, and you shouldn't be messing around with Evadne!" Frederic raged over the phone, "Look at what you've done! Do you realize you've nearly got blood on your hands? When you tried to kill yourself as a kid, it was Acacia who saved you! What are you doing now? First you propose to her, then you take it back. Do you think a girl can handle that? You're driving her to the edge!"
Suddenly, his miserable memories from childhood rushed back like a flood.
He clutched at his shirt, struggling to breathe.
When he looked up again, Evadne had already walked through the brightly lit doors, disappearing from his sight.
