His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) novel Chapter 421

How to describe his gaze? It was filled with a chilling malevolence, a bloodthirsty ferocity, reminding one of demons that lurk in the pits of Hades, never seeing the light of day.

"You don't need to glare at me like that! If it wasn't for your crafty ways and unpredictable moods, I wouldn't have to resort to this, old friend!"

Eden's heart lurched, and he gritted his teeth with determination, "Knowing you for all these years, I've realized one thing: you never leave a chance for anyone to survive. So, it's only fair that I find my own way out!"

"Do you really have the recording?" Avery narrowed his eyes, his voice lazy yet laced with an icy coldness.

"Well, seems like you're scared now!"

Eden gloated, "Did you think I would carry the recording around with me? Of course, I've hidden it in a safe place. If you dare hurt me, I guarantee that the whole world will hear this recording by the next day!"

"Name your terms," the man demanded, his gaze frosty. When it came to deals, Mr. Chambers never beat around the bush.

"I want you to arrange for a private jet to take me and my men out of the country. I also want money, lots of it! I've dealt with two major problems for you, and I deserve to be compensated. You can't possibly leave me high and dry, can you?!"

"How much do you want?"

"100 million dollars! Transferred to my offshore account! Once I receive the money, I'll give you the recording and disappear from your life!"

Eden smirked, his eyebrows arching with indecency, "We've been partners for years, and you've gained quite a lot from our partnership. This 100 million is pocket change for you, Mr. Chambers. Consider it a farewell gift for our years of friendship."

100 million dollars! Harvey, standing nearby, was left agape by Eden's audacious demand.

"Alright, deal. The money will be transferred to you within three days," to Eden's surprise, Avery agreed without hesitation. Eden couldn't help but regret, thinking he had asked for too little.

"For the next three days, I'd advise you to stay put in Elmsworth. The Abernathy Group and the Fairhaven Group are certainly searching for you," Avery warned, taking a leisurely sip of his red wine.

"That's not your concern! Just make sure the money gets to me on time!"

After reaching an agreement, Harvey escorted Eden out.

No sooner had the door closed than Avery's gaze darkened. He tilted his wine glass, allowing the red wine to spill onto the plush white carpet.

"To old friends, a toast to your journey."

Before long, Harvey returned, frustrated, "Mr. Chambers! 100 billion dollars, are you really gonna hand it over to that good-for-nothing son of a gun?!"

"Of course. If this gets out and reaches Evadne's ears, how am I going to explain it?" Avery spoke in a detached tone, swirling his glass. Harvey quickly poured him more wine, "But even if he gets the money, he needs to stay alive to spend it."

Harvey's eyes widened, "Are you suggesting we silence him for good?!"

"Or what?"

Avery pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses, "Initially, I had no intention of killing him. But now he's threatening me with Evadne, trying to ruin our relationship. How can I let him live?"

"If you're planning this, why bother giving him the money?" Harvey asked, confusion crossing his face.

"Because only when he gets the money will he leave Elmsworth. And only when he leaves Elmsworth can I make my move safely and securely."

Avery's eyes darkened, "For the next three days, keep a close eye on Eden and his men, and report any movements from the Abernathy Group or Fairhaven Group. Before I kill Eden, he cannot fall into their hands. Understand?"

"Got it!"

After a nerve-wracking observation period, Thaddeus' life was finally out of danger, and he was moved out of the ICU.

A week had passed since his rescue. During these days, Evadne was practically glued to Thaddeus' side, as if he was the source of her sustenance. She was with him day and night, as if she would lose her life force if she left his side.

In the morning, she woke up beside Thaddeus' bed. At night, she slept near him.

Due to his coma, Thaddeus was being fed through an IV, while Evadne barely ate or drank, becoming noticeably thinner.

Everyone felt helpless as they watched her fade away, understanding that if Thaddeus didn't wake up soon, she would continue to wither away. Until she was nothing more than a husk.

Tonight, with the help of Cassius and Elvis, Evadne prepared to give Thaddeus a full body wash.

She remembered how particular he was about cleanliness during their married life. No matter how expensive the suit, if it had even a speck of dust, he wouldn't wear it again. He was always immaculate, as if he barely belonged to this world.

Unbeknownst to him, Evadne had seen him in his most disheveled state, covered in blood on the battlefield. Whether he was a CEO or a soldier, whether he was in the spotlight or in the mud, her love for him was unwavering.

His prestigious status and handsome features were his shining points, but what Evadne had loved for the past thirteen years was his pure, clean soul.

Evadne undressed Thaddeus, revealing his muscular body, leaving only his underwear to cover his private parts.

While Cassius wasn't fazed, Elvis was staring wide-eyed at Thaddeus' prominent bulge, jealousy written all over his face, "Damn, is this guy really unconscious or just pretending?! I've seen a lot of unconscious men, and none of them were excited. Not even me!"

Elvis raised his hand, intending to jab Thaddeus' thigh, "I have to test this guy!"

Evadne quickly caught his wrist, "Elvis, what are you doing?!"

"I'm gonna pinch him a bit, see if he's faking it," Elvis was eager to carry out his plan.

"You don't need to. He's always big. I can vouch for it!" Evadne blurted out in her anxiety.

Both Cassius and Elvis got speechless.

Evadne's face flushed a deep red akin to a ripe apple, her head bowed as she vigorously wiped Thaddeus' arm with a towel. If one didn't know better, they'd think she was polishing a car.

The brothers' expressions were of utter surprise, their shared appearance unmasking their shared lineage.

"Ahem, Elvis, why are you giving Evadne that look?"

Cassius was the first to break the awkward silence, clearing his throat, "Evadne and Thaddeus have been married for three years; isn't this just normal couple stuff?"

"Ah, right, right, right, I must've forgotten! Haha, as long as it's big, it's all good. Then Evadne can be happy in the future. Ouch!"

Before Elvis could finish his sentence, Cassius gave him a stern elbow to the ribs, which left him gasping for air!

Evadne's cheeks were burning with embarrassment, "I finished wiping the front, now turn him over!"
