His Ex-Wife Is A Billionaire (Evadne and Thaddeus) novel Chapter 474

In fact, as Byron carried Nydia into the room, stripped her of her clothes, molested and humiliated her.

She had flickers of consciousness throughout the ordeal. But she was unable to move, unable to open her eyes, and utterly unable to resist.

The state of helplessness made it all the much crueler.

She would have rather been completely unconscious or perhaps it would have been better to just die, to end it all.

Embedded in her thoughts, Nydia's eyes were flooded with tears. She opened wide as she let out a despondent moan, struggling in Jason's embrace.

"Don't touch me. please, don’t!"

"Nydia! Look at me. Can you see who I am?" Jason, with tears glistening in his eyes, embracing her with his whole being.

It felt like his chest had been savagely cut open by a blunt knife, his aching heart forcibly extracted and grasped tightly, to the point of nearly being crushed.

Hearing the familiar voice, a flicker of light passed through Nydia's stagnant gaze.

She stared straight at Jason, first in disbelief, then tentatively and cautiously whispered, "Jason?"

Jason choked up, unable to speak, simply nodding over and over.

"What happened?" Startled, Nydia stared at his blood-stained left eye. In that moment, her own safety was a distant thought—her sole concern was for her beloved.

Evadne's eyes gleamed with a fiery crimson, her chest heaving with rage.

Why must this loving couple endure such torment? For what transgression were they forced to bear such merciless anguish?

At that moment, the anger of Evandne surged, directed entirely at Emeric.

While Byron was despicable, if it hadn’t been Emeric's insistence on Nydia's marriage to Avery, Byron wouldn’t have played such dirty tricks on Nydia!

Byron had been indifferent to Nydia before, but now he suddenly showed her excessive attention, even using such dirty tricks.

Was it not all to play up to the Ashbourne family and gain power over the Chambers Group, using her sister as a pawn? What else could it be?

Emeric was the true instigator!

"It's okay. I'm fine. Nydia. I'll take you away."

Tears mixed with blood fell from Jason's face as he could think of nothing else but to flee with her.

He tried to lift her, but Nydia resisted, pushing him away.

"Let's break up, Jason."

Jason was stunned, staring blankly at her pale face, "Nydia. I forbid you to say that. I'd rather die than break up with you!"

"Let’s break up. I'm tainted."

Nydia's attempt at a smile pierced his heart, "I'm no longer worthy of you, Jason."

"Don’t talk nonsense. How could my Nydia be ever tainted!"

Jason wept bitterly, emphatically stressing each word, "My Nydia is the most perfect girl in the world. No matter what, I will always love you."

Nydia slowly shook her head, her decision made, "If I stay with you like this, I could never forgive myself. You deserve someone better. Don't waste your time on me. It’s not worth it."

Evadne turned away, her eyes bloodshot. As she fiercely wiped her tears, she scanned the room for a weapon, only spotting a vase.

She grabbed the vase's neck and smashed it against the wall—

Shards flew, leaving only the jagged, sharp neck in her hand.

"Byron, you murderous beast! I'll castrate you!"

Evadne, her eyes wild with anger, advanced on Byron, who lay on the floor like a pathetic creature.

In his panic, Byron let out a shrill, ludicrous scream, followed by a trickle of urine slowly staining the carpet.

The once arrogant and domineering Byron was now utterly terrified.

As Evadne raised the makeshift weapon, Thaddeus's hand closed over her trembling wrist.

"Are you trying to stop me?"

Evadne, panting heavily, tried to pull her wrist from his scorching grip, "Don't give me that nonsense about staying calm! He hurt my sister, and not even Jeff can save him now!"

"I'm not stopping you. I feel the same with you," Thaddeus sighed, his voice soft and coaxing.

His palm slowly glided up, gently taking the shard from her, "I just don't want you to dirty your hands, much less get yourself hurt."

Evadne pressed her lips tightly together, her rationality returning.

Thaddeus's eyes were dark and chilling, his fingers clenched tightly, and with a "snap," there was a crisp sound—

Evadne watched as he effortlessly crushed the neck of the vase to powder!

So fierce! So cool! Just so badass!

But didn't that hurt hands?

Thaddeus casually dusted off his hands, blowing away the remaining dust, "Handling you requires no such effort. With a flick of my fingers, I could snap your neck, and with a nudge of my foot, I could crush your spine."

"Thaddeus, Evadne. You dare touch me?"

Unable to stand, Byron could only smack the floor in desperation, "If I'm harmed, my father and my brother won't let you off! You’re done!"

"That’s just perfect. I've been itching to take down the Chambers family in their place for a while, and now I've finally got the chance."

And the man who followed him in was strikingly handsome, his narrow, foxy eyes mesmerizing.

"Ah, this family. How could they manage without me?" lamented Chasel Bright, his handsome face wore a rare look of concern.

It turned out that the Bright family, known for their top-notch medical empire, had also received an invitation that evening.

Only, the Bright family's head had been resenting the fact his favorite daughter Suri had been Emeric's mistress without proper recognition, so for years, they had avoided any event involving the Ashbourne family.

They couldn't afford the scandal.

But tonight, the invitation was direct from the J Group, which they couldn't easily decline. Hearing that Chasel was back in the country, they sent him to make up the numbers.

Chasel, of course, was thrilled to come—he longed to see his lover, missing him every moment of the day.

But he hadn't expected to walk into such a “bustling scene.” Considering himself Evadne's "big sister-in-law," of course he had to step in for them.

Cassius gave Chasel a look, which said “I can't deal with you,” and then turned his cold gaze back to the human "hogtie" on the floor.

"Shall you tell, or shall I say it for you?"

The secretary chattered his teeth together, too scared to speak—he couldn't afford to offend either side.

Just as Cassius was about to intimidate him further, Chasel took over as his spokesman, his voice lazy but threatening, "Our President Ashbourne has quite the temper, as you've just experienced. Speak for yourself, or let him 'explain' for you—the experiences are worlds apart."

All of a sudden, his eyes curved slightly, "If you're so loyal to your boss, we'll accommodate that. After all, my scalpel is much cleaner and quicker than President Ashbourne's dagger, so you shouldn't feel too much pain."

"I'll talk!"

The secretary couldn't bear the pressure, and spilled the beans, "Mr. Chambers couldn't win over Ms. Nydia, he was so bitter, so, he made me get some kind of 'liquid ecstasy' to make Ms. Nydia compliant and it leaves no trace!"

"Liquid ecstasy? What's that?" Thaddeus's handsome face was marred by a frown.

"Its scientific name is GHB, also known as 'Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate' or ‘high G.’"

Chasel's expression darkened, "An overdose can make a person unconscious, extremely dizzy, disoriented, and nauseous. GHB acts quickly, peaking within ten to fifteen minutes, leaving the victim completely at the mercy of others, completely unaware of what's happening."

Upon hearing this, Cassius felt a chill run down his spine, and Evadne and Thaddeus exchanged glances, feeling the blood run cold!

"You son of a bitch, you dare slander me? I'll slaughter you!"

Byron glared at the secretary, and if it hadn’t been for Thaddeus pinning him down, he would have lunged to bite off the turncoat's tongue.

"Nydia, did you drink something they gave you?" Jason gripped Nydia's slender shoulder anxiously, fearing for her health if she had been drugged.

Nydia's head was splitting, her tearful eyes lost in confusion, "I didn't. Tonight, I only had a glass of juice with my sister, nothing else. I didn’t touch anything."

"Haha, Hahaha!"

Byron let out a hysterical laugh, pounding the ground with his fists, "Do you have any proof? You've got nothing! As I told you, it was this woman who threw herself at me! It was she who debased herself!"
