In fact, as Byron carried Nydia into the room, stripped her of her clothes, molested and humiliated her.
She had flickers of consciousness throughout the ordeal. But she was unable to move, unable to open her eyes, and utterly unable to resist.
The state of helplessness made it all the much crueler.
She would have rather been completely unconscious or perhaps it would have been better to just die, to end it all.
Embedded in her thoughts, Nydia's eyes were flooded with tears. She opened wide as she let out a despondent moan, struggling in Jason's embrace.
"Don't touch me. please, don’t!"
"Nydia! Look at me. Can you see who I am?" Jason, with tears glistening in his eyes, embracing her with his whole being.
It felt like his chest had been savagely cut open by a blunt knife, his aching heart forcibly extracted and grasped tightly, to the point of nearly being crushed.
Hearing the familiar voice, a flicker of light passed through Nydia's stagnant gaze.
She stared straight at Jason, first in disbelief, then tentatively and cautiously whispered, "Jason?"
Jason choked up, unable to speak, simply nodding over and over.
"What happened?" Startled, Nydia stared at his blood-stained left eye. In that moment, her own safety was a distant thought—her sole concern was for her beloved.
Evadne's eyes gleamed with a fiery crimson, her chest heaving with rage.
Why must this loving couple endure such torment? For what transgression were they forced to bear such merciless anguish?
At that moment, the anger of Evandne surged, directed entirely at Emeric.
While Byron was despicable, if it hadn’t been Emeric's insistence on Nydia's marriage to Avery, Byron wouldn’t have played such dirty tricks on Nydia!
Byron had been indifferent to Nydia before, but now he suddenly showed her excessive attention, even using such dirty tricks.
Was it not all to play up to the Ashbourne family and gain power over the Chambers Group, using her sister as a pawn? What else could it be?
Emeric was the true instigator!
"It's okay. I'm fine. Nydia. I'll take you away."
Tears mixed with blood fell from Jason's face as he could think of nothing else but to flee with her.
He tried to lift her, but Nydia resisted, pushing him away.
"Let's break up, Jason."
Jason was stunned, staring blankly at her pale face, "Nydia. I forbid you to say that. I'd rather die than break up with you!"
"Let’s break up. I'm tainted."
Nydia's attempt at a smile pierced his heart, "I'm no longer worthy of you, Jason."
"Don’t talk nonsense. How could my Nydia be ever tainted!"
Jason wept bitterly, emphatically stressing each word, "My Nydia is the most perfect girl in the world. No matter what, I will always love you."
Nydia slowly shook her head, her decision made, "If I stay with you like this, I could never forgive myself. You deserve someone better. Don't waste your time on me. It’s not worth it."
Evadne turned away, her eyes bloodshot. As she fiercely wiped her tears, she scanned the room for a weapon, only spotting a vase.
She grabbed the vase's neck and smashed it against the wall—
Shards flew, leaving only the jagged, sharp neck in her hand.
"Byron, you murderous beast! I'll castrate you!"
Evadne, her eyes wild with anger, advanced on Byron, who lay on the floor like a pathetic creature.
In his panic, Byron let out a shrill, ludicrous scream, followed by a trickle of urine slowly staining the carpet.
The once arrogant and domineering Byron was now utterly terrified.
As Evadne raised the makeshift weapon, Thaddeus's hand closed over her trembling wrist.
"Are you trying to stop me?"
Evadne, panting heavily, tried to pull her wrist from his scorching grip, "Don't give me that nonsense about staying calm! He hurt my sister, and not even Jeff can save him now!"
"I'm not stopping you. I feel the same with you," Thaddeus sighed, his voice soft and coaxing.
His palm slowly glided up, gently taking the shard from her, "I just don't want you to dirty your hands, much less get yourself hurt."
Evadne pressed her lips tightly together, her rationality returning.
Thaddeus's eyes were dark and chilling, his fingers clenched tightly, and with a "snap," there was a crisp sound—
Evadne watched as he effortlessly crushed the neck of the vase to powder!
So fierce! So cool! Just so badass!
But didn't that hurt hands?
Thaddeus casually dusted off his hands, blowing away the remaining dust, "Handling you requires no such effort. With a flick of my fingers, I could snap your neck, and with a nudge of my foot, I could crush your spine."
"Thaddeus, Evadne. You dare touch me?"
Unable to stand, Byron could only smack the floor in desperation, "If I'm harmed, my father and my brother won't let you off! You’re done!"
"That’s just perfect. I've been itching to take down the Chambers family in their place for a while, and now I've finally got the chance."
