His Ex-wife Is An Heiress (Amara and Tobias) novel Chapter 91

Amara stood in front of the interrogation room’s glass, watching as the officer inside asked series of questions to her attacker.

With his hoodie, face mask and cap off, Amara was able to see that he looked like a typical scumbag.

Disgusting, how did Tobias think it was a wise idea to hire someone like him? Why did Tobias even think it was a wise idea to hire someone to hurt her?

The thought of It angered her more than the ache she felt each time she thought of it.

The sound of the door opening pulled Amara away from her thought. She looked in its direction to find the officer stepping out, no longer interrogating her attacker.

“Ms. Miller,” The officer greeted her, shoving his hands Into his pocket as he approached her.

“What did he say?” Amara straight up asked, only taking her gaze away from the criminal for a few seconds.

The officer sighed. "He's refused to say anything concrete, only saying that you brought it upon yourself.” He paused, choosing his next words before asking. “Did you-“

“I didn’t do anything.” Amara cut him off. She turned to face him and he regretted asking that question. “I gave my statement earlier, didn’t I officer Andrew.” She regarded him by his name, which he had told her during their first meeting.

“Yes,” He nodded. “You did, but I just had to be sure. Protocol.”

What a dumb protocol, Amara thought as she turned back to face the criminal, wondering how she could get him to spill the beans.

So far, the police has been useless. Two days of interrogation yet nothing but a beat up bunk to show for it, if that wasn’t signs of their incompetence, Amara didn’t know what was.

“As per your protocol, what happens when he refuses to speak?”

“Well, thanks to Mr. Sattar’s testimony, he’d be put away in detention for two months at least and fined.”

Amara clenched her fist. The police were being too easy. That bastard had tried kidnapping her and making a sex tape of her, yet all they were doing was putting him behind bars for two months.

What would happen after that? He’d be back to pick up from where he left.

Should she just approach Tobias and call him out for his crimes? The thought was tempting, but that one side of Amara still doubted he had it in him to be so dirty.

Even if Tobias hated her that much, there’s no way he’d wish that much harm on her, right?

“Let him go.” Amara suddenly spoke, startling the officer.

“What? I’m afraid we can’t…”

“I’m withdrawing the case. I’ll no longer pursue legal action.”

“Miss, I-“

“That’s all I have to say, officer Andrew.” Amara said and looked away. She heard Andrew sigh and walk away.

Soon, he appeared in the interrogation room and said a few things to the scumbag who had attacked her.

The bastard smiled and Amara’s gaze darkened.

A few days from now, that smile of his would completely vanish.

Then, she’ll want to see how he’d act when he’s in real deep shit. Him and that accomplice of his.

“Duncan,” Amara addressed her assistant as she returned to the company.

He stood up and quickly rushed to answer her. “Yes Ms.?”

She fished out her attacker’s ID card, one which she had managed to nab from Andrew’s office on her way out.

Placing it on the table, she instructed. “Have someone tail him.”

“I see,” Duncan picked up the ID and read the name. “Alright ma’am. Is that all?”

Amara nodded. “Yes.”
