Chapter 21
My best friend heard Kinsley bring up this matter for the first time since she found out about it a month ago.
She thought she was silent because she couldn’t let go.
Upon reading this long paragraph, her best friend finally understood that she had truly moved on.
Her long–suspended heart finally settled completely.
“Maeve, you’re right, it was just a rotten first love. We broke up, so there’s no need to hold onto it. Wasting time on him is pointless, it’s better to get some extra sleep and go out more!”
Seeing that her best friend could understand her thoughts, Kinsley also breathed a sigh of relief.
She was about to share the food she had eaten these past few days when she received another message from her best friend.
“Actually, I have one more question to ask you, Maeve. If you’re willing to answer, please do so. If not, it’s also okay not to answer.”
“After ending this relationship, are you completely disappointed with love?”
As Kinsley looked at the words on the screen, a glimmer flickered in her eyes.
She lifted her head and looked at the couples holding hands outside the window.
The young boys and girls, still immature at the age of eighteen or nineteen, strolled under the sunlight, stepping on each other’s shadows. The middle–aged couples in their thirties pushed baby strollers, their tired faces filled with smiles. The elderly men and women, with gray hair, supported each other and leisurely walked.
Wherever she looked, there were countless people exchanging sincerity and believing in eternity.
Did love betray her?
No, it was just one person.
So why did she blame love for one person’s mistake?
“Of course not.
and I have my roommate, “What I lost was only Donte’s love, not the whole world. I have you. I have my grandmother up in heaven, all of you still love me. In the future, I will meet many people and experience many unpredictable things. Why should I give up a whole forest for the sake of one tree?”

This is Kinsley’s response to her best friend.
It was also after she let go that she gave herself the answer.
In the ten years entangled with Donte, the resentment and pain that had been pent up in her heart
for many years due to her dysfunctional family, all dissipated because of Donte’s blatant
favoritism.
She changed her paranoid and reclusive personality and learned how to love someone.
Isn’t it more worth commemorating the reshaped, resolute, and mature self, compared to the ending of being deceived and hurt?
After thoroughly thinking it through, Kinsley felt a sense of relief throughout her body.
She got up and left the café, went to the supermarket, and bought a lot of groceries.
After busy in the kitchen for over an hour, three dishes were served, and Yazmin happened to arrive
home.
Smelling the delicious aroma of braised pork ribs, she hopped into the kitchen and helped clean up the tableware after washing her hands.
“Kinsley, being able to eat the food you cooked as soon as you come back, is so fortunate!”
“I felt very happy when you accompanied me for meals.”
After everyone had sat down, Kinsley put a lot of meat into her bowl and smiled, her eyes curved
like a crescent moon.
