Chapter 2
With the dust settled, Sylvia turned around to leave, knowing that Sergio didn’t want to see her
anymore.
Just a few steps after walking, suddenly everything went black in front of my eyes, and my body uncontrollably fell backwards.
Sergio, who was beside her, acted quickly and caught her.
Until this moment, he only noticed that her clothes had already been soaked by the snow, her fingers were as cold as ice, and she was wearing a pair of slippers under her feet.
I must have been in such a hurry when I left that I didn’t even have time to change my shoes.
Was she so worried about him? She even disregarded her own health.
The onlookers watched Sylvia’s attire and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
“What a romantic person you are! You must have been very anxious when you received the phone call, to come out wearing slippers on such a cold day. Aren’t you afraid of freezing your feet?”
“Being a lickspittle is just like this, if you don’t put in a little more effort, how can you win Sergio’s favor?”
“Anyway, she had already agreed to donate her heart, Sergio, you don’t need to worry about her anymore. Just leave her to the waiters and let them handle it!”
Sergio looked at the woman leaning against him, her face pale from the cold, and felt as if a stone was blocking his chest, making it hard for him to breathe.
As if possessed by a ghost, he unexpectedly lifted her up horizontally.
Glancing at the bewildered gazes of the crowd, he kept a cold face and said, “For the sake of her heart, her body couldn’t have any issues in the past two weeks.”
As soon as the words fell, she hurriedly left.
Sylvia had no idea how long she had been asleep until she gradually regained some consciousness.
In a daze, it seemed like someone was holding her and gently feeding water into her
uth.
The actions of the person who came were so gentle and warm, it reminded her of Quentin.
Only he would treat her so gently.
It has been five years, and she missed him so much that she almost went crazy. Every night, she
would dream of him coming back to her.

This time, she once again thought she was dreaming, so she joyfully held the hand of the who came, her voice trembling slightly.
“Quentin!”
The next second, the intense pain in her wrist jolted her awake.
person
As she opened her eyes, she realized that the person sitting in front of her with deep and slightly angry eyes was Sergio.
His brows furrowed, “Who were you just calling?”
Sylvia bit her lip unnaturally and quickly changed the subject after glancing around the surroundings.
“How did I end up at your house?”
His face still wore a displeased expression.
“Once you had completed the heart donation surgery, we were going to get married, and of course, you were going to live in my house.”
“Whose name were you just calling?”
On ordinary days, he was not a person who delved deep into things, and he was not particularly interested in her affairs. However, for some unknown reason, today he insisted on getting to the
bottom of it.
She was too guilty to look at him. “I love you so much, of course I call your name.”
Sergio did not ask further, evidently believing her words.
Well, after all, she loved him so much, everyone in Rosebury knew it, everyone was aware of it.
Who else could you call besides calling his name?
He got up and picked up a set of clothes from the side, casually throwing them in front of her.
“Get dressed and come with me to the hospital.”
When Sylvia arrived at the hospital, she learned that Sergio had already prepared a
‘s of
medical examinations for her in order to confirm that her heart could be safely transplanted into
Miriam’s chest.
Watching the needle pierce her vein for blood extraction, Sylvia suddenly remembered that she used to be the most afraid of getting injections.
Every time at this moment, Quentin would chuckle and embrace her, covering her eyes with his

hands.
“Good girl, don’t be afraid, I’m here.”
But now, he lies in that cold coffin, never again will he gently call her “darling“.
The doctor on the side was giving instructions about postoperative precautions.
“Ms. Campbell, although the artificial heart could sustain your life, it cannot be compared to human organs. Therefore, in the future, you cannot run, eat spicy food, stay up late, have emotional fluctuations, or even speak loudly,”
“To put it bluntly, basically you would be like a living dead person, there is not much difference.”
What difference does it make whether she is alive or dead, without Quentin by her side?
Moreover, she didn’t belong here in the first place. Once she completed this final task, the system would declare her mission a success.
Her physical body would die, and her soul would return to the original world, so whether she has an artificial heart or not, she would still die.
Seeing that she was always absent–minded, Sergio’s gaze immediately turned cold.
“Do you regret it?”
Sylvia came to her senses and shook her head gently, then answered solemnly.
“No, I will do everything I promised you.”
Their gazes met, and Sergio once again found himself captivated by the deep affection in her eyes, which made him feel a bit flustered for the first time.
He hurriedly averted his gaze, made an excuse to make a phone call, and then pushed the door open
and left.
Sylvia sat there again, absentmindedly listening to all the doctor’s instructions.
