Chapter 3
Just as Sylvia was pondering what the meaning of her words was, Miriam suddenly rushed towards
her.
She didn’t have time to react and watched helplessly as Miriam grabbed her hand and slapped
herself hard in the face.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Campbell. It’s all my fault. It’s because of my illness that you had to donate your
heart. If hitting me can make you feel better, then please hit me.”
As soon as the words fell, a gust of wind suddenly flashed by Sylvia’s side. Before she could see the
person in front of her clearly, she was forcefully pushed away by a strong force.
She stumbled and hit her head directly on the wall, causing a cut.
The sight in front of her was instantly occupied by red, but Sergio didn’t even look at her for a moment, he just nervously protected Miriam.
“What happened? Did you get hurt anywhere?”
Miriam fell weakly into his arms, tears streaming down her face like broken beads.
“Don’t blame Ms. Campbell, she was forced to give me her heart, so it was only natural for her to be
unhappy about everything she did for me.”
Looking at her pitiful appearance, Sergio felt both heartbroken and angry.
And the person who bore all the anger naturally was Sylvia.
He looked at her, his eyes cold as a sharp blade.
“What exactly do you want to do? You were the one who promised to donate, and now you’re the one
causing trouble. Everything was my decision, so why are you blaming Miriam?”
He didn’t even give her a chance to explain, and turned directly to ask Miriam.
“How many slaps did she give you?”
Miriam weakly lifted her head and bit her lip cautiously.
“Three…”
“Sergio, forget it.”
Sergio gently soothed her and then turned his head to command the bodyguards beside him.
“Did you hear that? I will repay her tenfold.”

Suddenly, her vision was blocked by a black shadow. Through the gaps, she watched as Sergio gently picked up Miriam horizontally, as if cradling a fragile glass doll.
What awaited her was one hot and heavy slap after another.
Pain, it really hurt. She felt like she could hardly open her eyes.
If Quentin were here, he would definitely protect her.
But he was not there, and there was no one else to protect her anymore…
After a long time, she was finally dragged back to the Velazquez family’s mansion by the
bodyguard.
In the following days, she was put in solitary confinement, and Sergio did not come back.
I learned about his news once again through the news.
The news at the prime time took a full ten minutes to report on how the young heir of Rosebury’s foremost aristocratic family won the heart of his beloved during these days.
For example, he lavishly spent a fortune to buy a cruise ship, just to win a smile from her.
For example, when she liked diamonds, he personally went abroad and auctioned the world’s largest pink diamond, and presented it to her.
I also heard that she couldn’t eat, so he invited numerous Michelin chefs to cook delicious food for her. In the end, he even cooked himself, just to make her take one more bite.
This unique favoritism almost made the Rosebury socialites envious.
Only Sylvia watched the news indifferently, as if she had no connection with them at all.
Three days later, it was Miriam’s birthday.
Sergio’s assistant brought a dress to pick her up, inviting her to attend a birthday party, and in front of everyone, apologized to Miriam.
She didn’t want to go, but the assistant threatened firmly.
“Mr. Velazquez said, whether you like it or not, you have to go.”
“Otherwise, I will use force to make you appear at the banquet.”
For Miriam, hé naturally didn’t care about her feelings.
Looking at her slightly flushed cheeks in the mirror, Sylvia, with her eyes red, took out the foundation and repeatedly patted it on her face, trying to conceal the glaring scars that had not fully

healed.
It was fast.
She kept telling herself over and over again.
Soon, the task would be finished, and she would be able to leave, getting what she had desired.
The venue of the banquet was on the luxury cruise ship that Sergio had purchased for Miriam.
I heard that Sergio personally designed all the arrangements for the banquet.
The sky was filled with red roses, personalized chocolates engraved with Miriam’s name, and fireworks that were bright enough to illuminate the entire city, all of which showcased his thoughtfulness.
And in the midst of the stars, Sergio, amidst applause and cheers, took out a priceless necklace from the last century worth billions, called “Heart of True Love,” and personally put it around her
neck.
The whole scene was in an uproar for a moment.
“Is this the necklace that Princess Ashlee used to wear? I heard that Coffey Auction House recently put it up for auction and it was bought by a tycoon who said he wanted to give it to his true love. Little did I know that the tycoon turned out to be Mr. Velazquez.”
“Over the years, Mr. Velazquez’s love for Ms. Bolton has been evident to all. He is wealthy, powerful, and attractive, and has silently protected her for so many years. In order to find a soulmate, he almost turned the whole city upside down. I think if it weren’t for their mismatch, he would even give his own heart away. Why did Ms. Bolton ultimately refuse such a passionate man?”
In the corner where the light couldn’t reach, Sylvia silently watched everything in front of her.
Upon hearing this, she did not feel sad or upset. Only one sentence filled her mind.
With only a few days left to complete the mission and leave, she couldn’t afford any She had to avoid any contact with Miriam as much as possible.

An inexplicable uneasiness surged in her heart, and she instinctively wanted to turn around and
leave.
Miriam’s actions were faster, and she had already grabbed her from behind.
In the dim light, Miriam turned her back to the crowd and spoke in a cold tone that only two people

could hear.
“Sylvia, haven’t you had enough of the lesson from last time? Do you dare to come over again? Today, I will make sure you fully understand how wrong of a decision it is to continue bothering Sergio.”
As soon as the words fell, she directly pulled off the necklace around her neck and casually threw it
into the sea.
Then, she pretended to be surprised and pushed her away.
“Ms. Campbell! You were crazy. Even if you were jealous of how well Sergio treated me, you
