Chapter 4
“Help… Help me!”
The icy seawater instantly engulfed her whole body, leaving only a faint glimmer above her head.
Gradually, the last glimmer of light also disappeared.
Sylvia closed her eyes and felt her body getting heavier and heavier.
She was so tired, so sleepy, and she just wanted to fall asleep like this.
No, she couldn’t sleep yet, she still had one last thing to finish.
If she couldn’t do it, she would never be able to see Quentin again.
At this moment, she didn’t know where the strength came from, and instantly opened her eyes.
Then, she exerted all her strength and swam desperately towards the surface of the water.
When she reached the shore, she was already exhausted.
My chest was filled with water, and the pain in my lungs felt like they were about to explode. I could only cough frantically to relieve it.
Sylvia struggled to cling onto the rock, feeling like a wretched and nauseating water spirit.
Before she could recover, a dull pain suddenly came from her shoulder, and then she was heavily
kicked back into the water.
On the shore, a line of bodyguards dressed in suits watched her, expressionless and indifferent in
their tone.
“Mr. Velazquez told me you’re not allowed to go ashore until you retrieve the necklace.”
She suddenly choked on several mouthfuls of water, and only then did she slightly regain her
composure.
It seems that if she couldn’t find the necklace today, she wouldn’t easily give up on this matter.
Helpless, she could only dive underwater again and again.
After a whole three hours and countless times of floating and diving, she finally found the necklace that had been thrown away by Miriam.
When she got ashore, her whole body was frozen and numb, and her fingers were even whitened by the water blisters.

The bodyguard handed her a set of clothes and asked her to change before coming out.
Trembling, Sylvia carried her clothes and walked into the bathroom alone.
At that moment, it seemed like someone else walked in.
The voice of the incoming person sounded familiar, and upon closer listening, it was indeed Miriam and her group of girlfriends.
“Miriam, Mr. Velazquez really loved you so much. He said he would give you such an expensive necklace, and he did. When you cried, he felt so sorry for you, he wished he could give his life to
you.”
“Before, you said you only treated him as a younger brother and went abroad with your ex–boyfriend. As a result, your ex–boyfriend ran away as soon as he heard about your heart disease. Only Sergio stood by you, never leaving. Now, he has done so much for you that even a heart made of stone would be warmed. You wouldn’t still consider him just a younger brother, would you?”
Miriam smiled, a hint of pride in her tone, “You fell for my trick too, pretending to be my little
brother was just an excuse.”
“Men just love what they can’t have. If not, how can I become his beloved, who is both desirable and
unattainable?”
“As long as I kept stringing Sergio along, he would always love me, which was much better than being with him.”
Upon hearing this, the best friends were instantly shocked and exclaimed in disbelief.
“Really? So, are you saying that your previous statement about going abroad with your ex–boyfriend was all a lie?”
“You played this game too aggressively!”
Miriam laughed out loud.
“Of course, is there any man in this world who can compare to Sergio?”
“That man was just a pawn I brought in on purpose to make Sergio jealous.”
“Didn’t you see Sergio being constantly depressed and obsessed with me all these years?”
