Chapter 9
The piercing alarm screamed madly, and Sergio, who was standing outside the operating room, suddenly stood up from the chair.
A strong sense of unease quickly surged up in his heart, and he tightly clenched his hands into a fist, trembling unnaturally all over his body.
“What happened? Did something happen to Sylvia?”
The assistant on the side quickly comforted.
“No, no.”
“Didn’t the doctor say that this surgery was already very mature and Ms. Campbell would be fine?”
Even Sergio himself felt surprised when he realized that the person he thought of when he found
out there was danger in the operating room was Sylvia, not Miriam.
Wasn’t Miriam the most important person in his heart?
Why on earth is this? Why does he care so much about Sylvia’s safety, even more than Miriam?
It’s impossible, absolutely impossible. It must be his subconscious that made a mistake, that’s why
he is so worried about Sylvia.
She would be fine. Over the years, she had done countless dangerous things like this, but she
always managed to come out safely.
This time will be the same, he thought silently in his heart.
He didn’t even realize that over the years, Sylvia had actually done so much for him.
When Miriam left him to go abroad, it was a great blow to him.
For her, he drowned his sorrows in alcohol and slept in the bar night after night.
None of his friends in the circle could persuade him, but Sylvia’s appearance pulled him out of the
quagmire.
Looking back on those days of living recklessly, Sergio himself finds it laughable.
He remembered the first time he saw Sylvia, he only said two words to her, “Get lost.”
But she wasn’t angry, she just gently squatted in front of him and helped him up.
She said, “It’s okay, from now on I will accompany you, my presence is to fulfill you.”

Sergio’s heart throbbed painfully, making it feel like he could barely breathe.
Since when has Sylvia’s position in his heart become so important?
Before she entered the operating room, the words she said to him echoed in front of him scene by scene, like a spell, making him unable to find peace.
Why did I have such a feeling?
The words she said seemed like a farewell to him!
The door of the operating room was suddenly pushed open by someone, and the doctor took off his
mask and walked out slowly.
He looked at Sergio with a heavy expression on his face.
“Mr. Velazquez, I regret to inform you that Ms. Campbell has passed away during the surgery due to a failed rescue attempt caused by rejection.”
“You had instructed before the surgery to ensure Ms. Bolton’s safety no matter what. Rest assured; Ms. Bolton’s surgery was very successful!”
Sergio didn’t hear what was said behind him at all, with only that sentence echoing in his ears.
Sylvia’s rescue efforts were unsuccessful, and she has passed away.
Passed away? What does that mean?
He said, Sylvia died?
Sergio felt as if a thunderbolt had exploded above his head, shaking his entire being to the point of
almost shattering his internal organs.
It was impossible, absolutely impossible!
As if going mad, he suddenly lunged forward and grabbed the doctor’s collar, his eye sockets
