His Knees, His Pleas, But Our Son's in Peace novel Chapter 44

Chapter 44

I smiled down at him, my heart swelling with love. His wolf ears were the cutest thing about him, a constant reminder of the bond between us. He wiggled in his chair as I placed his meal in front of him, and he immediately began reaching for his spoon, eager to dig in

Sitting down across from him, I watched as he ate, his little face lighting up with joy at every bite. It was moments like this that made everything worthwhilethe quiet, simple moments where we could just be together, mother and child, in perfect harmony

As if on cue, there was a knock at the door, and I knew it was Issca. He had been a constant presence in our lives these past few years, helping me take care of things with the PACK while I figured out how to move forward

Ready?Issca asked as I opened the door. His familiar smile made everything feel a little easier

I nodded and scooped up my son, securing him in his car seat. He looked up at Issca with a wide grin. Uncle Issca!he chirped, his wolf ears twitching in excitement

Issca laughed, reaching over to ruffle the boy’s hair. He’s getting bigger every time I see him.”

We climbed into the car, and as we pulled away from the house, Issca glanced at my son in the rearview mirror. He really does look like-

Don’t,I interrupted, my voice firm but not unkind. I knew where he was going with th

sentence, and I wasn’t ready to hear it

Issca fell silent, understanding my unspoken request. We drove on in peaceful quiet, the future ahead of us uncertain but full of possibility

Chapter 44

As I glanced back at my son, who was happily babbling in his seat, I couldn’t help but feel hopeful. No matter what challenges lay ahead, we would face them togetherstronger than ever

The bond between us, both as mother and child and between our wolves, felt unbreakable. Whatever the future held, we were ready

The scent of freshly polished floors hit my nostrils as we entered the new office building. The large glass windows overlooked the city below, and for a moment, I allowed myself to take in the view. It was a symbol of our new beginning. My pack had officially split from Issca’s, and while the decision was not made lightly, I knew it was the right one

Cyrus clung to my leg, his tiny hands gripping my trousers as he peered up at me with those curious eyes of his. I gave him a reassuring smile, ruffling his hair. It’s just a meeting, kiddo. We’ll go to the playground after,I promised, crouching down to his level

I observed everything with a quiet intensity, my eyes calm and focused on Cyrus. He looked so much like Olivermy oldest sonwith his wide, gentle eyes and kind features, a reflection of his late brother. Yet, there was something different about him, something deeper, more composed

His posture was straight, his expression unreadable. Even at such a young age, Cyrus rarely showed his emotions, and I couldn’t help but notice how much he resembled someone else, someone who had influenced him in ways I couldn’t fully understand. But I pushed the thought away. Now wasn’t the time to dwell on the past or the strange circumstances surrounding Cyrus’s existence

Issca, standing beside me, smiled warmly. He’s growing fast, isn’t he?”

I nodded. Too fast.”

Issca’s presence was comforting, but it was different now. I had grown into my role as a leader, a female alphastrong, capable, and valiant. There were no more doubts, no more secondguessing myself. The pack needed me, and I was ready

Chapter 41

Let’s get this meeting started,I said, straightening up and looking at Issca. You’ll take care of the kids, right?”

Issca grinned, leaning against the doorframe. Of course. I’ve got it under control. I’ll make sure Cyrus doesn’t cause too much trouble.”
