Kane nodded faintly. “After all, he is not my son. I can’t prioritize everything for him. I have already hired a nanny, and the nanny will be responsible for picking him up in the future.”

Seraphina could never fail to detect the hidden meaning behind his words.

But she dared not argue, knowing that pushing too hard might backfire completely.

With eyes downcast, she gritted her teeth and muttered, “Okay…”

After Kane left, Seraphina returned to her office and swept the files off her desk onto the floor, her hybrid nature making her emotions explosive.

Kane felt guilty towards her, but his feelings for her were no longer the same as before!

Did he really have another female occupying his thoughts?

Thinking of this, Seraphina quickly picked up her phone and dialed a number, her expression cold with determination.

“It’s me. I need you to help me investigate someone–Dr. Aria Ashworth.”

Aria didn’t finish work until very late.

Just as she returned to Moonrise Apartments, she caught Kane’s dominant scent before she even entered the building. Walking into the spacious living room, she found him sitting on the sofa, casually flipping through channels with the remote.

He had taken off his suit jacket and placed it on the back of the sofa, his tie also loosened, hanging around his collar in a way that made him look more approachable than usual.

Aria stopped at the entrance, puzzled by his unexpected presence.

He didn’t come back often anymore.

But now…

Kane’s attention wasn’t really on the television, so when he sensed her arrival, he decisively turned it off, and the living room instantly fell into quiet.

He placed the remote control on the coffee table and turned his piercing gaze towards her. “I haven’t eaten.”
