Margaret smiled at this point and said with genuine warmth, “It was Alpha Ravencrest who made breakfast. I didn’t expect Alpha Ravencrest to have such excellent cooking skills. Luna Aria, you are really blessed by the Moon Goddess!”
Aria watched Kane’s broad back as he moved efficiently in the kitchen, her heart filled with complex emotions that her wolf couldn’t quite sort through.
Kane’s cooking skills–he had learned about them from Selena Ravencrest, his cousin.
Selena was like the rest of the Ravencrest family in that they didn’t particularly like Aria, viewing her as an outsider who had trapped their precious Alpha.
Selena was aware of Kane’s history with Seraphina.
Even when Aria and Kane’s secret mating ceremony, Selena had deliberately compared her to Seraphina in front of everyone, boasting about how much Kane used to love his first mate–to–be and how he had even learned to cook for her.
During their six years of bonding, he had never cooked for Aria.
But now, suddenly, he had the whim to make breakfast.
Aria felt deeply unsettled by this unexpected gesture.
She didn’t understand why he had been indifferent to her during those years of their bond, ignoring her completely. But recently…
Was he trying to leave her with good memories, or was this just guilt before their inevitable separation?
“Up?” Kane placed two breakfast plates on the table.
It was French toast with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
He moved one breakfast in front of her and then pulled out a chair to sit down, his amber eyes watching her reaction. “I made something sweet. It should suit your taste.”
Margaret pulled out Aria’s chair for her with obvious delight at seeing her Alpha care for his Luna.
Aria sat down and looked at the breakfast on the table, her wolf stirring with bitter irony.
She actually didn’t like overly sweet food.
He had never paid attention to such details about her.
Forget it.
They were going to sever their bond sooner or later anyway.
“Thank you,” Aria said politely.

His Rejected Luna Queen: From Pack Doctor to Moon Goddess
Chapter 31
Kane’s eyes narrowed slightly as he studied her reserved response, his wolf stirring with dissatisfaction at her formality.
Margaret smiled warmly and said, “Luna Aria, Alpha Ravencrest really cherishes you.”
Aria’s expression was slightly stiff. Did he cherish her?
Kane held his knife and fork with elegant precision, eating breakfast while maintaining his Alpha composure. “After all, my mate works hard, so I should be considerate.”
