Sandy was surprised with Lauren’s reaction but he had to keep arguing with her. 

“Since you heard our conversation, I will be straightforward,” Sandy’s voice suddenly became cold and he continued, “Don’t be so greedy. For so many years, it has always been Sally who takes care of Mr. and Mrs. Bennett. Don’t you feel ashamed to get the shares in the Bennett’s company without doing anything?” 

Lauren was silent for a moment and actually, she agreed with Sandy in certain degree. So she nodded and said, “Well, I really shouldn’t take the shares in the company.” 

Sandy was dumbfounded again and he was like: (0) 

“Why is she so calm?” Sandy thought. 

Sandy didn’t know how to continue this topic, because he had thought that Lauren would refute him and say that she should take the shares. Then he could be righteous and refute her with reasons. But now he had to change the topic, saying, “Our families had decided to be connected by marriage but I hope you should know that the one I love is Sally.” 

This time, Lauren did not say anything but raised her eyes to take a glance at Sandy. Sandy was a little embarrassed under her eyesight, as if in Lauren’s eyes, he was just an unimportant object. Sandy frowned because he didn’t like being treated like this. 

Lauren had always been calm and she rarely got too excited or angry with something. However, this did not mean that she would tolerate others again and again. She didn’t want to argue with Sandy and Sally at all but they kept irritating her. 

So Lauren made up her mind. Since they didn’t take a step back, then she would not tolerate them again. There was no need to be kind to them! Lauren thought in mind. 

“Who are supposed to get married according to our families’ decision?” Sally asked and she was still expressionless with a very 

powerful vibe. 

Sandy changed his expression, feeling that he was being suppressed by Lauren. Then he spoke, “They wanted us to get married, but….” Before he could finished, he was interrupted by Lauren. 

Lauren was impatient already, and said, “Then things would be easy for us.” 

When Sally on the side heard this, her heart suddenly beat fast and she thought Lauren was going to marry Sandy. At this moment, Lauren said, “Since we don’t like each other, we should just call off the engagement.” 

What? Sandy and Sally were both shocked. Sally immediately said to Lauren, “What are you talking about? This is decided by two families! How can you call off it?” Sandy also said to Lauren in a mocking voice, “Who do you think you are? You have no right to call 

off it!” 

Hearing this, Lauren chuckled. After raising her head, she said proudly. “Let’s wait and see.”
