Zachary muttered softly, "Discharged so quickly? Tough life, indeed."
Zion guessed that man was probably Tessa's fiance.
Zachary opened the car door and got out, walking toward Tessa.
…
Stephen was discharged after a week.
During the week in the hospital, he had been under Tessa's strict supervision, eating light and bland meals every day.
Initially, he didn't mind, but having to eat those plain dishes at every meal was wearing him out.
After much persuasion and pleading, Tessa finally agreed to improve their meal by eating out.
Thus, Tessa brought him to a restaurant in the bustling heart of the city.
It was a well-known establishment in Rivertown, a place where both Stephen and Tessa had grown up eating.
It was peak dining hour, and the hall was packed to full capacity. A long line of people waited outside for their turn.
Tessa had made a reservation in advance. She scanned a code at the entrance and was about to follow the server inside when somebody called out to her.
"Tessa!" Zion called.
She turned her head, and the first person she saw was Zion.
Then, she saw Zachary, and her brows furrowed.
Why was he there? She couldn't help but think he was stalking her.
Zachary and Zion walked toward them.
Zion greeted her first. "Long time no see, Tessa. You're from Rivertown too? Why haven't you mentioned it before?"
Zion had only just heard from Zachary that Tessa was from Rivertown and getting engaged, just a few days ago. He knew nothing else.
He was Rivertown's finest.
Stephen's face was cold, and his jaw tight. His gaze was sharp like an unsheathed blade locking onto Zachary, as if ready to tear him apart. "Can I help you?"
Zion involuntarily shivered.
The air Stephen exuded was overwhelming. It was no wonder he was Rivertown's most elite.
His natural dominance and air of authority were qualities other pampered young men could never emulate.
Zion scratched his head awkwardly and asked, "Could I be fortunate enough to join you for a meal?"
Tessa was starving, having been too busy at noon to eat properly, managing only a piece of bread. She just wanted to go inside and order quickly.
"You can. He can't," Tessa said, pointing at Zachary.
Zachary's expression turned complicated.

Yuhohoooo!!! Finally!!!...
Aaand~ Tessa and Stephen are finally back together! Yaaaaay!...
Why make an uninteresting, irrelevant twist when readers are waiting for Tess and Stephen to be together?...
Gosh just let Tessa and Stephen get back together already! Ugh...
Oh my god, when is this book finishing... they're not even back together yet and more nonsense side plots.....
Whoa! Hahahahahaha! Go, Sophia! Burn, stupid Rowena! Lol...
Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
