Everbright Law Group had been taking on more and more cases lately, so the law firm decided to hire a new batch of lawyers and legal assistants.
The HR department, finance department, and administrative department all had newly recruited employees as well.
As the law firms grew larger, the internal rules and regulations also became more complete.
Thanks to Stephen, the employees of the company also got to enjoy some afternoon tea every two to three days, lighting up the atmosphere at the office.
Tessa had noticed that everyone's efficiency and motivation to work had improved significantly. She had to admit that Stephen's "bribery" was actually working.
The only thing that gave Tessa a headache was how Stephen insisted on visiting the law firm two to three times a week.
He claimed that he just wanted to observe everyone as they worked, but who knew what his real intentions were, really?
Every time he came to visit, the female employees would always get all hyper and excited, secretly watching him as they worked. In fact, they weren't even focused on their work.
That afternoon, Stephen came to visit again.
He parked his car and made his way into Tessa's office. He headed straight to the couch to sit down and poured himself a cup of coffee. He was acting as if the company were really his.
Tessa's gaze remained glued to her laptop as she drafted a legal document. In fact, she didn't even turn to look at him. It was almost as if there wasn't a handsome man sitting in her office.
Stephen continued to sit on her couch as he sipped on his coffee in silence, not disturbing her from her work.
He took two sips of his coffee and placed his cup on the table. Then, he folded his legs and turned to look at Tessa. From the angle where he sat, he could see her side profile clearly.
She had come to work with some light makeup on and had clipped her hair at the back of her head. Her beige suit complemented her well, making her look extremely beautiful and elegant.
Her pale skin looked flushed and tender. From the side, he could see her tall nose bridge and her long eyelashes, fluttering gently like butterflies.
His gaze darkened as he looked at Tessa, and he gulped subconsciously. She was so beautiful, and he wished he could just get up to kiss her.
Perhaps sensing his burning gaze, Tessa turned to look at him, and their eyes met.
Stephen looked straight into her eyes, showing no intention of hiding the fact that he was staring.
Rolling her eyes, Tessa pointed at the stack of papers on the table and huffed, "If you're so free, why don't you help me take this stack of papers to the shredder and shred them."
"Alright," Stephen agreed without missing a beat.
He then got up, walked to the table, and picked up the stack of papers. However, he did not leave immediately.
Instead, he inched closer to Tessa and lowered his voice. "Ms. Yates, you didn't tell me where your shredder is."
Due to how close he was standing to her, Stephen's woody cologne invaded her senses. His voice was also deep and hoarse, causing Tessa's heart to skip a beat.
He had to be doing it on purpose!
"Where?"

Yuhohoooo!!! Finally!!!...
Aaand~ Tessa and Stephen are finally back together! Yaaaaay!...
Why make an uninteresting, irrelevant twist when readers are waiting for Tess and Stephen to be together?...
Gosh just let Tessa and Stephen get back together already! Ugh...
Oh my god, when is this book finishing... they're not even back together yet and more nonsense side plots.....
Whoa! Hahahahahaha! Go, Sophia! Burn, stupid Rowena! Lol...
Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
