"Of course, you can. Why would I say no to more money?" Tessa tugged her lips into a plastic smile.
Then, she sat on the single couch next to Stephen. A secretary dropped in to serve them tea before departing, closing the door quietly behind them.
Tessa curled her lips into a smile, picked up her cup, and took a sip of her tea. "What services are you here for, Mr. Jacobson?"
Stephen whisked out two folders. "These are the cases my company needs help with at the moment."
He handed the folders over to Tessa.
Tessa took them in her hands and snarked, "Jacobson Corporation is such a massive enterprise. I'm sure you have plenty of work to do as its CEO. I didn't think you'd also be in charge of minor lawsuits like these."
She knew that the passive aggressiveness in her tone was badly hidden, but she didn't care.
Stephen didn't seem bothered by her words. Instead, he smiled and said patiently, "A potential collaboration with you will ensure that it'll never be more than a minor case."
Tessa paid no mind to his flattering words. She remained utterly emotionless as she flipped through the folders.
For a corporation as massive as Jacobson Corporation, a single business contract of theirs could easily involve tens or even hundreds of millions in value. Therefore, the printed evidence alone would take at least a thousand pages. Some of them could even span several large boxes' worth of paper.
Hence, it was impossible for Stephen to bring all the required paperwork with him.
Thus, the folder only contained a compiled set of case materials, concisely outlining the cases Jacobson Corporation intended to commission the firm for legal representation. Naturally, it also included a summary of the relevant evidence to support their suit.
Tessa skimmed through both folders.
Jacobson Corporation owned a wide range of businesses. It had its fingers in several pies, including high-tech industries, hospitality, fashion, and jewelry.
The documents Stephen had brought had given her a clear summary of the types of cases in need of representation, the claims that they wanted made, and the solid evidence they had in their hands. She could tell that everything was well-organized at just a glance.
There was supporting evidence for every single case in the folder. Some of them were contracts, bank transaction records from the company's accounts, and chat logs between the staff and their clients. She even found relevant receipts clipped to the documents.
Cases such as these had a high probability of success due to how thorough the documentation was. As a result, the risk the lawyers had to face when putting forth a lawsuit was minuscule. Honestly, these were cases that lawyers would love to get their hands on.
Tessa gave him a meaningful smile after flipping through the folder. "Thank you, Mr. Jacobson."
Stephen's eyes landed on Tessa's figure. He didn't bother concealing the mirth in his eyes. "You're welcome, Ms. Yates."
Tessa nodded. "I'll have my assistant print out the agency agreement. Please wait here for a moment."

The readers' comments on the novel: His Unveiled Passion
Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
This is funny! Jacqueline was also the culprit why James knew that nancy was Stephen's cousin. So, really, what happened when steohen tortured jacqueline hahah...
I wonder how many authors does this book have? Suddenly jacqueline was back and continue to bad mouth tessa. And was stunned that tessa knows her feelings about stephen. And then rowena was freaking mad at tessa too; because there werw multiple instances that tessa sharp-tongued her. 🤣...
What is wrong with the story flow? At chapter 160-164 there’s this whole thing about Stephen revealing in front of all the Jacobsons family members about Jacqueline’s inappropriate feelings towards him and her involvement in murder. There’s even this “Just like that, Jacqueline was officially expelled from the Jacobson family. Stephen then promptly handed her to the authorities.” So I was already glad the bitch is out of the picture. And then suddenly at chapter 236, Jacqueline appears again like nothing happened, still being the adoptive daughter of the Jacobson family and the family being unaware of her feelings for Stephen. Seriously? Doesn’t make sense anymore....
The latest update is just a repetition of the previous chapters...
I don’t like that Stephen is dropping Tessa. They could work together to go after James. But if this happens then I’ll stop reading....
Whats wrong with the typing?? There a lot of weird words...
