Tessa and Stephen were having a moment when Marissa called Tessa over the phone.
Stephen shot a look at Tessa's phone and said coldly, "Decline it."
Tessa reminded him, saying, "We're here for her birthday party."
So, she answered the phone.
Marissa didn't sound unhappy as she said, "Tessa, you guys shouldn't be holed up in your room. You should come out and have some fun. I've also invited Sienna and Naomi to the party. I just saw them board the ship."
"Alright, I'll be there," Tessa replied.
Tessa ended the call and turned to Stephen, suggesting, "Let's join the others. Sienna and Naomi are here too."
Stephen's expression was cold due to the untimely interruption. So, he only grunted in response but said nothing else.
The lobby on the first floor was spacious, with a grand crystal chandelier sparkling overhead.
Plenty of people had gathered under it, drinking and chatting merrily.
Now that everyone on the guest list had arrived, the cruise ship began to set sail for the seas.
Stephen had only taken a few steps forward with Tessa when his phone rang.
He glanced at the caller ID before turning to Tessa and saying, "Tess, I have to take this call. You go ahead and have fun. I'll find you in a bit."
Tessa nodded. "Okay."
Just like that, Stephen picked up the phone and strode toward somewhere quieter while Tessa headed to the lobby.
When she got there, she immediately looked around in search of Marissa. Alas, she couldn't find the evening's host anywhere.
Marissa was the birthday girl, and therefore the protagonist of the day. That also meant she had to entertain the many guests present. Hence, Tessa had no idea where Marissa had gone off to.

Sooo~ Chapters 310-318 were just a repeat of Jacqueline’s punishment, official expulsion from the Jacobson family, and arrest. With few changes since Tessa and Stephen are not together this time. So Tessa didn’t witness how Jacqueline was tortured at Stephen’s base, though at least Tessa was still called over and witnessed how Stephen officially expelled Jacqueline from the Jacobson family and how Stephen’s subordinate made Jacqueline grovel in front of Tessa. Lol. I hope Jacqueline’s really out of the story now....
Also a lot of chapters were missing here. I went back to the application where it was originally published that’s why i know that this site is not reliable...
Fucked up book! Seems like the authors were not talking to each other. LOL. Yes authors, because of the inconsistencies....
The story went downhill after pg200 1. Why is Jacqueline back… she was expelled from the family already 2. There was no reason for Rowena to be mad at Tessa 3. The Jacobson already knows that Stephen wants to get back witb Tessa after they deal with James, so why is Rowena pushing hard? LOL 4. The family also knows that Stephen and Nancy have some sort of deal. The story was okay from page 1-199, but clearly it’s a thumbs down. I can deal with grammatical errors, but story errors is just different now....
