Chapter 18 The Big Gift
There were people all around watching the fun, but Amber ignored them.
She just looked at Jared who was on one knee, with a wry smile on her face, then turned to Mrs. Gardner and spoke in an offhand manner, “First of all, I‘m sorry I came uninvited. Secondly, who can guarantee that the video that went viral online is real? You said you have a score to settle with me from six years ago. Well, I have to tell you, I was wrongly accused.”
As she finished, she darted her eyes on Makenna.
Makenna’s face went pale and she hid behind Jared.
The crowd saw the scene and blamed Amber.
“This woman is unscrupulous. She hit Makenna with her car six years ago. But she has the nerves to come to the party!”
“Yeah, look how she scared Miss Gardner! She‘s gone too far.”
Mrs. Gardner was in no mood for Amber’s nonsense when her daughter was scared, “You’re a sharp-tongued girl. Since you say you’ve been wrongly accused, then go and explain yourself to the police.”
Mrs. Gardner was about to make a phone call when Jared stopped her.
After a long silence, Jared finally spoke, “Amber, this is not the place for you to be.”
Threatening her?
Amber was actually smiling, then raised an eyebrow with sarcasm, “Then where should I go, Mr. Farrell? Although you haven’t treated me well in the past six years, I don‘t think I‘ve ever done anything wrong to you. Do you really want to drive me into desperation by posting the faked video to smear me online?”
Jared‘s eyes twinkled and he squeezed the box in his hand.
Ben was about to explain for his boss when Jared stopped him.
He looked at her with his deep-set eyes, “Makenna won’t hold you accountable. You don’t have to be like this.”
Amber snorted as if she had heard the biggest joke, “Are you kidding me?”
She glanced at the crowd and sat back in her chair nonchalantly, “Jeremy, bring out the big gift I’ve prepared Miss Gardner.”
So, with everyone looking on in amazement, Jeremy walked to the projector. After a minute or two, a video clip was projected onto the wall screen.
When he finished, everyone’s faces changed, especially Jared‘s. The look on his face was simply wonderful.

And…….terrible ending, the story is not finished....
Jared needs to find a way to sleep with Amber, find the letters in her bedroom and realize he has given his love to the wrong woman through Makenna’s deception. Don’t want he or Amber to live a life of misery due to someone else’s lying. Makenna and her family are terrible people, using Jared for his status and wealth....
Amber needs to lighten up a little too, their relationship was not all Jared’s fault as she didn’t tell him the truth about being his pen pal either. As for his mother, let her drop dead along with the Gardners....
Jared needs to state his feelings so Amber can feel his sincerity which means dumping Makenna, the fake, despicable woman...
Wow Jared needs to grow a set and dump that lying deceitful witch and her whole family and remarry Amber asap. Otherwise he will be a miserable man for life with that terrible woman....
Jared needs to wake up and dump Makenna particularly since his true love is Amber not the wicked witch....
Ugh, why do the horrible conniving people always win. Terrible Makenna is wicked, she’s a thief, stealing Ambers identity as Maple Leaf and pretending to be someone she’s not. Awful person....
