When Sandy left, Stella was already asleep.
Sandy quietly placed the pre-written sticky notes next to Stella's hand and left on her own.
In the early morning hours of Manches City, the streets were sparsely populated. When she arrived at the airport, the ticket check had just begun.
She completed all the procedures and boarded the plane.
Upon landing, dawn was nearly breaking.
Sandy had reserved a hotel nearest to the airport. She booked a few hours for a time-limited room, as she intended to go see Brandon after sunrise.
Sandy hadn't slept much that night.
After having breakfast and sensing some discomfort in her stomach, Sandy quickly went to the hospital, registering for an emergency visit.
As the increasing pain grew more intense, Sandy felt uneasy. Despite her words to Yanis yesterday, Sandy was now feeling overwhelmed.
Ultimately, she picked up her phone and dialed Brandon's number.
However, Brandon's phone rang multiple times without being answered.
Sandy continued to dial one after another, but none of her calls connected to Brandon.
Soon, it was her turn to be examined. Lying on the bed during the examination, Sandy's heart was filled with anxiety, fearing for the safety of the child.
Fortunately, after the examination, everything appeared to be normal.
Her stomachache was just that, a stomachache.
As time ticked by, after receiving all the test results, Sandy made another call to Brandon.
This time, the call connected. But before she could say anything, Sandy spotted a familiar tall figure in the distance.
His face was filled with panic, and he held a person while frantically calling for a doctor.
Sandy stood frozen in place, watching as he urgently placed the person onto a bed and pleaded with the doctors to save her.
It was a kind of panic and anxiety that Sandy had never seen from him before.
Even when she faced difficult situations, she had never seen such an expression on his face.
Sandy didn't know how long she stood there. It was long enough for her to feel a bit unsteady.
She was not one to back down when faced with adversity. Thus, she didn't intend to leave silently.
After regaining her composure, Sandy adjusted her emotions and took slow steps towards Brandon.
As she got closer, her pace unconsciously slowed down.
Though only a couple of steps away, throughout the entire time, Brandon kept his head down, never once looking up.
Previously, whenever she appeared, Brandon always noticed her immediately.
However, now, despite her being so close, he still didn't seem to realize her presence.
Only when Sandy stood right in front of him did Brandon finally raise his head, a look of shock crossing his face.
Sandy met his gaze, watching as his expression shifted from shock to panic, and finally, he hurriedly stood up, his voice slightly shaky, "Sandy, you…"
"Where's your phone?"
Sandy didn't let him finish his sentence before asking.
Brandon, hearing Sandy's question, hesitated for a moment, then reached into his pocket but couldn't find his phone. He thought for a moment before responding, "My phone might be at…"
He trailed off because there was a high possibility that his phone was at the Duncan family estate.
Hence, in front of Sandy, he didn't dare to finish his sentence.
