"Yanis?"
When Yanis was distracted, Zane called her.
Hearing Zane's voice, Yanis gathered her wits. She looked at him. "You…do you consider me as…as…?"
Even though the words had come to her lips, she still didn't ask him.
"What's it?"
Yanis was silent for a few seconds and turned her gaze. "Do you give Martin money for considering me as a bitch?"
Such question made her a bit breathless.
Hearing her question, Zane frowned and said in a cold voice, "Yanis, what are you thinking about?"
"Didn't you tell Neve that yourself?" Yanis shouted at him.
After that, they both turned silent.
About a minute later.
Zane spoke first, "What did Neve tell you?"
Yanis didn't speak.
Zane stared at her and asked again, "What did Neve tell you?"
Yanis took a deep breath. "She said that you told her that I promised to marry you for your money, and you gave Martin money all these years because you treat me as…"
Yanis didn't continue.
After she finished, Zane sneered, "Yanis, are you empty-headed?"
"I…"
"Well, do you believe everything she says? If she says I love you, will you believe her?"
The words blurted out made Yanis and Zane stunned at the same time.
The two stared at each other.
No one spoke.
The atmosphere changed from tense to a bit subtle.
Just then, the door was pushed open. Bonnie's voice sounded, "Yanis, I bring grandma…"
After seeing Zane who was sitting by the bed and looked at Yanis closely, Bonnie paused and then finished her words, "Here."
That done, Bonnie took a step back, closed the door and then knocked on the door solemnly.
Zane turned his gaze and stood up.
"Please come in."
It was like that he was the master while Bonnie was the guest.
After hearing the response, Bonnie pushed open the door and repeated what she had just said, "Yanis, I bring grandma here."
Yanis looked at Bonnie standing in the doorway and asked, "Where's grandma?"
Bonnie replied, "She's downstairs. I come up to see if you're asleep. If not, I'll help her up."
Yanis responded.
As Bonnie was ready to leave, she glanced at Zane standing by the bed and asked, "Didn't Mr. Lawrence plan to leave?"
Zane glanced at Yanis lying on the bed. "Be clever in the future."
Yanis, "…"
Bonnie, "? ? ?"
Zane passed Bonnie and went downstairs first.
Bonnie stood at the door. She glanced at Zane's back and looked at Yanis lying on the bed. "Would you be reconciled while I'm out to bring grandma here?"
"What are you thinking about? Do you think we're playing games of make-believe?"
Bonnie laughed, "Well, you're both adults and wouldn't play such childish games."
That done, Bonnie walked out. "I'll help grandma up."
Downstairs.
