At the entrance of a detention center, M Country.
Myles bit his cigarette and leaned against the car. "Are you sure he will get free in fifteen days?"
The person beside him nodded, lit the cigarette, and took a sharp puff. "This guy has powerful connections, and what's more, the assault is just an attempt and there is no substantial evidence, so it is not easy to give him a severe punishment."
Then the man paused a while and continued, "We've already tried very hard to help you, otherwise that guy would be set free very soon by offering some money."
Myles sneered, "What are the powerful connections behind him?"
"Similar to your background! He also has some friends working in the public security bureau, so 15-day detention is the best result we have achieved now," said the man.
Myles didn't speak any more but smoked the cigarette in silence, then he said, "Okay, it's indeed an attempt. If he really got his way, no matter how powerful his background is, I would definitely make him vanish into the thin air."
"Keep sensible! You wounded him so severely, but he didn't ask you to pay for the medical expenses." said the man.
Myles gave the man a cool look. "He assaulted my girl, and I was merciful enough, without killing him."
The man smoked and looked at Myles. "So many years have passed, but you haven't won her heart yet. We are all fed up with your bragging."
Myles took the last puff, threw away the cigarette butt, and stamped it out. "I have something to do later, goodbye."
"Don't go! Would you like to have some drinks with us?" asked the man.
"Sorry. Maybe next time," said Myles.
Myles paused when he was about to get in the car and said, "Help me punish that guy severely."
The man hesitated for a few seconds and replied, "Okay, no problem. I will handle it."
Myles hummed, "Thank you."
The man waved goodbye to Myles. "Bye, you owed me a lot of thanks."
"I promise if I don't go back to Manches City, I will come to see you tomorrow night," said Myles.
"Really?" asked the man.
"I never lie to you," Myles replied.
"Okay, no hurry. We can have an appointment after you finish your business. Don't make such a hasty promise. If you break your promise again, our friendship will go to an end," said the man jokingly.
Myles nodded. "Okay, let's get in touch. See you."
...
When Myles returned to the hotel, he bumped into Ivan who just got off Darin's car.
"You didn't stay with Bonnie and Yanis at night?" asked Myles.
When they walked into the hotel side by side, Myles asked Ivan casually.
"Well, I sent them back to the hotel after dinner, and then I left for something else afterward," replied Ivan.
Myles nodded and handed the car key to Ivan.
Although the two knew each other before, they didn't have much connection with each other, because Ivan had been staying abroad for many years. They didn't have much to talk about then.
"Did you quarrel with Bonnie?" Ivan asked in the elevator.
Myles laughed lowly and replied, "I never have the guts to quarrel with her, but treat her as a princess at all costs."
"Only you can tolerate Bonnie's temper. If it were someone else, life would definitely be a big mess," said Ivan.
"Bonnie's grandfather always says that I spoil his granddaughter," said Myles.
Ivan agreed, "Well, it means she puts only you in her mind, not anyone else."
Myles could sense something more in Ivan's words.
After sinking into silence for a while, Myles looked at Ivan and asked in a low voice, "Did Bonnie say anything about me in front of you?"
