I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 603

Chapter 603: There are Some Secrets Hidden in Everything

After that, the two of them had no contact until three or four years ago when Zane and Miller came over to discuss a collaboration and happened to run into Foster.

That night, Zane and Foster had a good fight.

Neither of them came out unscathed. Foster stayed in the hospital for a week, while Zane didn't go back to work for three days. He just stayed in his hotel room, leaving everything for Albi to handle.

Since then, Zane rarely set foot in South City again. Foster also avoided places where Zane might be found. The two seemed to have an unspoken agreement not to cross paths with each other.

Seeing each other tonight naturally made both of them unhappy.

However, Yanis' presence made Zane restrain himself somewhat tonight.

If it weren't for Foster's big mouth saying those things earlier, Zane wouldn't have resorted to violence today.

After hearing about Foster's past from him tonight, Allan and Evan were somewhat shocked.

What can you say about this?

The girl's death couldn't be blamed on Zane at all. He simply wasn't interested and rejected her outright, which was the most straightforward way of handling it and no wrong. If Zane agreed and then changed his word, then something happened to the girl that might have been related to Zane. However, Zane refused directly from the beginning, so in the end the girl was depressed and jumped to her death, which had nothing to do with him.

Although later on Foster wanted him to go see her, he refused, which was understandable since it would only make things worse as she would likely misunderstand his intentions leading to potentially disastrous consequences down the road.

So ultimately these events were nothing more than youthful infatuations gone awry.

Foster actually did some digging afterward too; it turned out that the girl had been suffering from depression long before confessing her feelings for Zane, which only exacerbated matters further when combined with pressure from parents who wanted her to either marry rich or get into top schools.

So, in the end, she ended up jumping off a building without even giving herself a chance.

"You really can't blame this on Zane," Evan said looking at Foster.

Foster lit up another cigarette, but didn't respond immediately.

Indeed there was no one person responsible.

But their conflict still existed nonetheless. Perhaps it was because the girl was someone Foster had truly fancied before, a youthful impulse that caused him to overlook certain truths. He threw all rationality out the window.

Allan casually took a cigarette from Evan and lit it before speaking. "You guys are really strange. Isn't being single good enough? Why do you have to fall in love with girls?"

After hearing Allan's words, Evan glanced at his face and said, "Can't you be nice?"

Allan flicked off some ash from his cigarette and replied, "What? You've known me for so long, but I've never done anything like that."

Evan didn't bother responding but couldn't resist telling the truth. "Don't tell me there isn't a girl you secretly think about?"

Allan paused while taking a drag of his cigarette, but didn't say anything.

But even the most carefree person always has an unknown secret hidden in their heart.

Albi arrived quickly with a check and $150, 000 in cash.

"Mr. Lawrence, I brought everything over," Albi handed everything directly to Zane.

Zane looked at it briefly, but instead turned towards Myles, who was standing nearby.

Myles also glanced at Zane before reaching out to take the check and cash from Albi's hand. "You really mean it, huh?"

Zane's voice was indifferent. "Give him. Bring Mitch out."
