The man's words made the woman smile even wider. She stepped forward to Yanis and said, "Let me try it on."
Yanis helped her put it on and handed her a mirror. The delightful look in her eyes was genuine.
The woman really liked it.
The man took a glance at the necklace and was also impressed. He then turned to Yanis and asked, "How much is this necklace?"
Yanis replied, "Since you were introduced by Nancy, I'll give you a discount."
He looked at the price tag on the counter and continued, "It's originally 126 thousand dollars. If you want it, I can give it to you for 120 thousand."
She knocked off six thousand just like that.
The man seemed wealthy enough that six thousand wasn't too much for him. But Yanis still gave him a good deal by rounding down.
The woman's eyes lit up when she heard the price reduction.
For the man, though, it wasn't exactly cheap for one necklace. He hesitated because they still had to buy engagement rings later that day.
"My dear, I really like this. I really, really like this," said the woman as she leaned in close to his ear. She whispered something into his ear, which made him smile immediately afterwards, as he responded with an affirmative nod of his head saying: "Okay, fine! You like it, so let's buy it!"
With those words spoken out loud, he pulled out his card from his wallet and handed over directly towards Yanis, saying: "Just swipe my card."
Yanis glanced over at the woman who winked back at her.
She reached out and took it. "OK."After swiping the card, she handed it back and said,"You can come back anytime if there are any issues or maintenance needs."
"Sure thing," replied the man as he took hold of their new purchase while adding: "We'll take another look at engagement rings later."
Yanis nodded in agreement before handing them both another catalogue filled with various ring designs.
The woman was still playing with the necklace around her neck.
Yanis asked softly. "Should you wear it now?"
The woman nodded. "Yes!"
"And here are the receipt and the box."
"Did you design all these rings yourself?" The woman looked at Yanis and asked, glancing at the photo book the man was flipping through.
Yanis nodded, "Yes, original."
The woman admired Yanis and gave her a thumbs-up. "Nancy showed me her wedding ring, and I really liked it. Can you design one for us that's similar?"
Yanis was about to speak when the man interrupted, "Why do you want a wedding ring that looks like somebody else's?"
The woman pouted, "But I think Nancy's is very pretty."
The man said, "Our wedding rings shouldn't be the same as anyone else's."
The woman hesitated for a moment and then touched her neck. She seemed to remember that the man had just bought her a necklace, so she nodded and said, "Okay, let's look at other options."
The man moved the catalog in front of the woman. "Take a look."
They looked through it for quite some time before finally choosing a pair of wedding rings that Yanis had just designed two days ago. The woman pointed to them with her finger.
Yanis took a glance at them and said, "This style may be more affordable but will take slightly longer to make. When is your wedding date?"
The man asked her how long it would take.
