I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 630

Chapter 630: He Won't Break Up Based on How Much He Cares About Bonnie

Ivan answered the phone quickly, "Bonnie?"

"Ivan, are you busy? Want to come hang out with me?"

"Just got home, getting ready to eat," Ivan replied.

"Don't eat yet, come have a drink with me. I've missed you," Bonnie said.

Ivan chuckled softly and asked, "Where are you? Alone?"

"With Yanis. Will you come?" Bonnie invited him.

"Sure thing. If Miss Cooke is inviting me like this, I can't say no," Ivan agreed.

Being clever as he was, Ivan could tell from Bonnie's tone that she wasn't in a good mood. So he went along with her conversation and said,

"Okay then. Send me the location on my phone later."

After a pause, Bonnie added,

"Oh yeah... don't bring your fiancée along. This isn't really her scene."

"Mmm-hmm... we're not together anymore anyway so I'll just come by myself," Ivan responded.

Bonnie nodded before realizing that Ivan couldn't see her and added another "Mmm-hmm" before saying goodbye.

At Bexter's Mansion:

Ivan put his shoes back on after changing them and looked towards the living room area,

"I won't be eating at home tonight; something came up." Madison stood up immediately after hearing his words and looked at him standing in the foyer,

"Dinner is ready; why don't you eat first before going out?"

"No thanks; I'll go out for dinner instead. You guys go ahead without me – I might be late coming back tonight," replied Ivan as he straightened his clothes while looking at Madison.

Madison wanted to ask more questions but Ryan spoke up from behind her:

"Just let him go if it's urgent business – stop asking so many questions all the time."

Hearing this made Madison swallow down what she wanted to say next as she watched Ivan turn around and leave through the door which slammed shut loudly right in front of her face.

She sighed heavily while staring at that closed door before turning back into the living room saying:

"This kid never changes..."

"You should mind your own business more often - he's an adult now not a three-year-old child! Do you think it's appropriate for everything about him to concern only yourself?" Ryan scolded Madison who retorted:

"But isn't it my job since I'm his mother? Who else would care about him if not for family members like us?"

Ryan stared at her incredulously: "You're becoming more confused as you get older! Can't you see how distant he has become from us lately? And there wouldn't have been any problems between Yanis if we hadn't insisted on making Mila marry into our family…"

"That's enough!" snapped Madison interrupting Ryan mid-sentence: "Didn't YOU oppose their relationship when they were still together?"Ryan was a bit tongue-tied. "But I didn't go as far as you did."

"I went too far? Are you saying that now? If Ivan had really brought the person back, who would have looked good, you or me?" Madison yelled at Ryan.

Ryan was silent for a few seconds and then stood up. "Okay, let's eat."

Madison was angry but followed Ryan to the dining room.

...

When Ivan drove to the night market, Bonnie had already started drinking and seemed a little drunk.

Ivan sat down next to Bonnie. "You're already drinking?"

After speaking, Ivan greeted Yanis and Stella.

Yanis looked at him. "Haven't eaten yet?"
