"Is he coming to pick you up?" Bonnie asked on the phone.
Yanis replied, "Just called him, he'll be here soon. You should let him in, standing outside like this makes it seem like something's wrong with our store."
Hearing Yanis' words, Bonnie hesitated a bit. "Should I reorder and find someone who can hide in a place we can't see?"
"Bonnie, really no need for that. Just let him come back," Yanis said.
"Okay then, I'll send them back?" Bonnie confirmed.
Yanis agreed with a sound of affirmation. "I'll take a shower at home first and then come over to keep you company. I'll bring dinner from home."
"No need for dinner; my dad and grandpa will be here soon and they're bringing food," Bonnie said.
"The Old Mr. Cooke and Uncle Cooke are coming? Should I come later then?" Yanis asked.
"If you don't want to come tonight it's fine too; there's nothing much going on here except me sleeping," Bonnie replied.
"But there should still be someone around just in case something happens. Who will take care of you if you're alone over there?" Yanis insisted.
"Don't worry about me; there are nurses around," Bonnie assured her friend.
Without saying much more, Yanis simply stated: "I'm coming over now so make sure those people outside leave first."
"I got it." With that final exchange between friends concluded, Yanis hung up the phone before turning around to head out again into the store proper where Linda was waiting for her with an odd question:
"Yanis what are those people doing? Did Boss Bonnie owe them money or something?"
Yanis couldn't help but laugh at Linda's wild imagination: "Where do you get these ideas from? Is your boss really someone who owes money?"
"It could happen! What if she had a bad day or spent too much money somewhere else before owing some big shot lots of cash... and now they've come looking for her..." Linda trailed off as she continued spinning her tale until Stanley interrupted their conversation by walking up behind them both:
"What is going on? Why all this fuss?" Stanley asked as he looked between his two colleagues curiously while trying not to laugh at their antics too hard himself - especially when Linda started talking about how she'd met Mr Lawrence once already!
"Just wondering what those people were doing outside earlier..." Yanis began explaining before being cut off by Stanley again:
"Oh right! Those guys were just some delivery men dropping off supplies!" He chuckled softly while shaking his head slightly at how easily rumors could spread among coworkers sometimes...
Linda rolled her eyes playfully as she turned away from both of them: "You guys are such drama queens sometimes!"
Stanley glanced at Linda before turning to attend to his own tasks. Linda didn't even notice someone was behind her and continued talking to Yanis, "Yanis, do you ever feel like you're being protected by a big shot?"
Yanis looked at Zane's face and replied, "What if the big shot doesn't want to protect me?"
"Not willing? That won't do. You have to use some tricks. Men are creatures that need attention... at night..."
Before Linda could continue rambling on, Yanis took a step towards Zane and said, "You're here."
Linda stopped mid-sentence when she saw Zane standing behind her out of nowhere. She immediately froze up and said nervously, "... Mr. Lawrence!" Then she turned around and left in a hurry.
After Linda left, Yanis smiled at Zane and asked teasingly, "Mr. Lawrence?"
"I'm not unwilling to protect you; I'm very willing," replied Zane with a smile.
"I know Bonnie will always be protecting me from now on too," laughed Yanis.
Zane reached out his hand and rubbed Yanis' head gently while saying softly, "Good."
Then he turned around and looked towards the door where some people were still standing outside waiting for something.
