After dialing for a while, Ivan finally answered the phone. "Dad?" he said.
"Where are you? Let's go out and take a walk. It's been a long time since we've done that. Manchester City has changed quite a bit in recent years," Ryan said in a low voice.
After hearing Ryan's words, Ivan was silent for a few seconds before speaking up. "I'm in the garage. Come on in."
"Okay," Ryan replied.
After hanging up the phone, Ryan turned around and walked into the garage.
When Ivan saw Ryan come in, he got out of the passenger seat and said, "Dad."
Ryan responded and walked over to him. "Let's go for a walk," he said.
Ivan nodded his head and let Ryan get into the car first before getting into the driver's seat himself and driving away.
The father-son duo didn't speak during their drive until after some time had passed when Ryan finally spoke up again. "Having multiple sisters isn't easy," he said.
Upon hearing this, Ivan turned to look at him with surprise written all over his face. "Do you... have any thoughts about it?"
Ryan remained silent for some time before saying: "Actually, I knew about this matter long ago but I didn't want to bring it up again because everyone makes mistakes when they're young sometimes... Although she did something wrong back then, Martin also had responsibility for what happened too - if he hadn't wanted to be with her so badly at that time then none of this would have happened."
"A slap can never sound without two hands clapping; although there may be loopholes in this statement sometimes it still holds true most of the times - if Martin hadn't thought like that then even if she wanted to be with him it would have been impossible so both of them were at fault here."
"And later on when Martin returned home after changing his ways because he felt guilty towards your mother leaving behind that child was just an accident which wasn't directly related to your mother but…you can't say there's no connection either; everything seems destined somehow or other - after your mother sent that child off to The Thompson Family they treated her as one of their own until later on when they had their own son only then did they start treating her harshly but I'm sure you already know all these things right?"
After listening carefully to everything that was being told by his father-in-law-to-be Ivan murmured softly: "But if not…"
Ivan interrupted Ryan." I know. I'll try to understand her."
"Ivan, she is your mother. You should trust her unconditionally and stand by her, even if she really did something wrong. You can criticize the way she does things and correct her mistakes to make improvements, but you cannot abandon her. That will hurt her." Ryan's words left Ivan silent for a long time. He didn't know how to respond to Ryan's words and felt that Ryan was too biased towards Madison.
Madison was at fault in this matter, and quite a bit of it.
Not to mention what happened with Martin back then, but now with Yanis, if Madison didn't know Yanis' identity, it would be understandable. However, since Madison knew about it but still treated Yanis like that, Ivan couldn't understand why.
Ryan naturally guessed what Ivan was thinking when he saw him remain silent. "Do you think your mother's current actions are inappropriate or unfair to Yanis?"
Ivan didn't deny it. "Since you know that much about it already then why still do this?"
"Yeah," Ryan repeated Ivan's words again,"if we both know why does she have to do this?"
