Benedict finished his cigarette, flicked the butt out the window, then turned to face Jones. "Are you here to threaten me?"
Jones replied calmly, "If that's how you see it, then so be it."
Benedict narrowed his eyes. "Jones, you're really sticking close to Sandy. Do you truly believe she's innocent? Do you think all those hidden scandals won't come out? Those black materials that her anti-fans can't dig up?"
Upon hearing Benedict's words, Jones raised an eyebrow. "Mr. Sharp, don't forget how much influence Sandy brought to Simsang Entertainment. Haven't you counted that in?"
Benedict smiled. "You make a good point. But every artist at Simsang Entertainment has contributed in their own way. They've all brought in profits. Losing Sandy won't have much impact on me, but..."
Benedict paused slightly before continuing, "But if she affects me, that's a different story. What do you think?"
Jones looked at Benedict, unable to suppress a smile, which soon turned into a chuckle.
"What are you laughing at?"
"I always thought you had some conscience, but now I see that you're just heartless! No matter how much others sacrifice for you, in your eyes, it's only what they're supposed to do," Jones said coldly, locking eyes with Benedict. "But why do you think they owe you? How much have they given to perform well and get those lucrative endorsements? Why should you exploit them?"
Benedict stared at Jones. "So, you're not only here to speak for Sandy but also for other people at Simsang Entertainment?"
"And if I say I am?" Jones replied.
Benedict pressed his tongue against his teeth and lowered his voice. "Jones, I'm not getting angry at you because I have some thoughts about you. But don't think I'm a good person. If you really make me unhappy, neither you nor anyone else will find it easy."
Jones met Benedict's gaze directly and said, "Well, when others make me uncomfortable, I'll make sure to return the favor a hundredfold."
At this point, Jones took a step closer to Benedict. "Don't think everyone is oblivious. Do you know why Belle and Aaron are targeting Sandy behind her back?"
Without beating around the bush, Benedict replied, "So what if I arranged it? They have to listen to me, don't they?"
Jones was about to say something, but Benedict's voice cut in first. "Jones, you have no connection to Simsang Entertainment now, and Simsang Entertainment has nothing to do with you. Do your job, and you better not meddle in what's not your concern. Otherwise, you'll be the one to regret it."
"I don't mind regretting this as well," Jones said calmly. "But I want to advise Mr. Sharp to back off. If you go too far, whether it's them or me, we'll resist."
With that, Jones leaned in slightly, whispering in Benedict's ear, "Otherwise, I'll send a recording I have to Mrs. Wen. She'll see the real face of the gentle and virtuous gentleman in front of the public."
Upon hearing Jones's words, Benedict's expression changed almost instinctively, and he loosened his grip on Jones.
Jones calmly adjusted his clothes. "I won't disturb Mr. Sharp any longer."
