After giving him a glance, Eva walked over and sat down in the seat where Anthony had just been sitting.
"Paul, I know you don't want to see me again, but please rest assured, I won't come again after this."
Paul's hand, which was placed under the blanket, tightened slightly, but then seemed to relax quickly.
"What do you want from me?"
Seeing him speak calmly, a trace of apology appeared in Eva's eyes.
"I already know about the misunderstanding with Jayden, I'm sorry for letting you be misunderstood."
This belated apology from Eva made Paul's nose tingle with sourness.
Despite feeling extremely aggrieved, he forced himself to act as if nothing was wrong.
He had been going through these past two days like this, no one knew how much he was suffering.
But when Eva said, "let you be misunderstood," a lot of his sadness dissipated.
"Do you now know what kind of person Jayden is?"
He glared at Eva, his grievances reflected in his reproachful gaze.
Eva nodded lightly, not saying anything more, and simply handed the candy in her hand to Paul.
"Your spine is injured, it must be more painful than when it was fractured. I bought a lot of orange-flavored candy for you. Eat one when it hurts."
Looking at several bags of candy, Paul's already sour nose became even more bitter.
They had been apart for almost two years, and Eva had never cared for or comforted him.
