‘If I agree with Shane, I’ll drag my whole family down. I wouldn’t dare to go against Ms. Bonita even if I had a hundred times the courage!’

Shane was shocked and puzzled upon hearing Xavier’s refusal. The former thought Xavier would agree since the Knights and Sheffyns had been rivals for many years. Therefore, Shane was confident that cooperating with Xavier would be easy.

He did not expect Xavier to refuse so decisively.

‘Xavier talking about internal conflicts is nonsense! He brought everyone in line when he took over his family years ago. The Sheffyns have been growing stronger under his leadership ever since!’

Shane refused to believe there would be internal strife within the Sheffyns. He knew Xavier made it up to reject him.

‘Why did Xavier reject me? No matter how hard I rack my brains, I can’t think of a reason.’

As he was in deep thought, Xavier’s voice broke the silence, “I advise you not to go against the Knights, Shane. Just focus on your family and grow peacefully.”

Xavier did not respond to that. Instead, he said, “I thought I told you. I need to deal with my family’s internal conflicts and don’t have the resources to focus on other things. If you insist on going against the Knights, find someone else to help you.”

Although his words were tactful, his two refusals made Shane understand that he would not cooperate, no matter what.

After realizing Xavier's firmness, Shane stood up gloomily and said, “If you’re unwilling, I’ll go to Mr. Hamish at Tang Fusion Studios. He has a broad vision, and I believe he’ll agree with me.”
