I'm Sorry, But I Love You novel Chapter 81

Anderson cast another glance at the entrance of Sky Club. He said to Paul on the driver’s seat, “Drive.”

Standing on the second floor, Catherine and Ethan watched the familiar car drive into the dark.

Leaning against the window and squinting, Catherine picked up a glass of liquor from a waiter passing by. She gulped it down.

The strong liquor burned her throat, raising the heat. Catherine couldn’t help but cough.

Ethan patted her on her back gently. “I sensed that Anderson still loves you.”

Catherine asked, “So what?”

Ethan shook his head. “That night, you ordered two gigolos in Room 708. Others didn’t know our relationship. The waiter thought that you would probably cheat on me, so he came to me and told me about it. Coincidentally, Anderson was at the same party as I was. He reacted more fiercely than I did. Are you sure he truly didn’t like you?”

“You should have seen what he did in Room 708 afterward. He humiliated me unrestrainedly. Is it love? That’s just because of his desire for possession. I loved him so humbly back then. I’m afraid in his opinion, I must love him humbly all my life.” Catherine smiled in mockery.

“Even after he has destroyed my family and had my parents killed, he doesn’t feel guilty at all. Instead, he thinks that I deserved it.

“If this is so-called love, I’d rather not have it.”

When Catherine was speaking, except for that mocking smile, she didn’t have any other expression on her face as if she was talking about another person’s matter.

“I’ve got to go home now. I’ve sent your jacket to the dry laundry and will bring it back to you the other day.”

As she spoke, Catherine was about to go downstairs. Ethan reached out a hand to stop him. Looking at her receding back, he smiled and withdrew his hand.

Afraid that she would encounter what had happened earlier at the entrance, Catherine took the door that led her directly to the parking lot of Sky Club. Aurora drove her home.

Sitting in the living room of Ziting Villa, where the lights were all off, Anderson was smoking. The cherry on the cigarette was only seen in the dark.

“Hasn’t she gone home from Sky Club yet?”

Paul nodded. “Not yet. According to the report, Miss Johnson and Mr. James went to the second floor. They haven’t come downstairs yet.”

Ethan’s bedroom was on the second floor.

Anderson’s face was darkened. At the thought that Catherine was with Ethan and she left with her waist wrapped by him, Anderson couldn’t help but get irritated.

“Mr. Clark, shall we still keep an eye over there?” asked Paul gingerly.

“Yes.”

Half lying on the sofa, Joshua felt quite sleepy. He yawned and asked, “Andy, are you in love with Catherine?”

Anderson frowned, but he didn’t answer.

Joshua didn’t expect that he would get any response, though. He got up on the sofa and sat up straight. “Catherine is dating Ethan now. Frankly speaking, they are both adults, and it’s quite normal for them to do anything. You look so uneasy at home, but probably they are having fun over there...”

Before Joshua finished his words, a cup was smashed on the floor next to her feet, glasses scattering everywhere.

Joshua shook his head and sighed. “In our circle, a love fool like you is quite rare. But unfortunately, Isabella Johnson is dead.

“It’s a good thing that she died, though. Since she’s dead, she had become the untouchable goddess in your heart. Whenever you’ve seen a face that’s similar to hers, you’ll treat the person kind.”

How about the woman who hadn’t died?

The woman who hadn’t died but loved him couldn’t become a treasure to him. Instead, she had become a boring sweetheart to him.

He even didn’t like the children born by her.

Anderson sneered. He said in mockery, “I didn’t expect you are into romance so much.”

Joshua shrugged. “I’m not well-educated and I don’t read much. My new girlfriend said those lines to me. I just think it suits to describe the relationship among you, Isabella Johnson, and Catherine.”

Anderson felt depressed. Closing his eyes, he fell into the silence, ignoring Joshua’s nonsense.

However, the scene that Ethan wrapped around Catherine’s waist and walked away with her kept flashing through his mind.

Anderson asked himself if he liked Catherine.

Next second, he denied firmly.

She had murdered Isabella and their baby. How could he like her?

It was impossible. He just hated her to the core. Isabella had passed away, lying in the cold graveyard. What right did Catherine have to be happy?
