Even in the event of a sudden attack, he had plenty of ways to make the opponent retreat.
So Benjamin's response left Harper puzzled. Did he really not find out anything?
Harper was bewildered. She could have directly confided in Benjamin about her thoughts, but she hesitated. Her lingering feelings prevented her from being completely frank.
Harper remained silent for a long time. Benjamin took the opportunity to set aside his phone and placed his hand on her waist, asking softly, "Is it still hurting?"
"Just a little."
He lifted her chin with his hand, gently pinching her cheek. "Rest at home for a couple more days if it still hurts. Don't rush, your health is important."
Harper simply nodded, her lips pressed together with little expression on her face.
Benjamin then grasped her chin, turning her head to face him. "What's wrong with you today? Did I do something that displeased you, or are you in a bad mood?"
Harper hurriedly replied, "No, I'm feeling fine."
"Then why do you look so expressionless? What's on your mind?"
She fell silent, worried that Benjamin might continue to inquire. She finally said, "I'm thinking about what you just said. Who is this man? What's his motive behind all this?"
"Besides money, it's all about interests. Maybe he's just a pawn, and the real mastermind behind him has yet to reveal themselves. But regardless of who he is, it doesn't matter. Neither the Martin Group nor the Martin family can be provoked by anyone. If he's really targeting the Martin Group, then the Martin Group will make him pay twice the price."
He narrowed his eyes, a resolute coldness emanating from his handsome face, while his deep eyes were filled with a chilling aura.
After he finished speaking, he stared into her eyes, a faint smile playing on his thin lips. "Both the Martin family and the Martin Group will not allow themselves to be attacked without retaliating. So don't feel wronged, understand?"
He reassured her not to have any reservations and not to care about others' opinions, as long as she stayed true to herself.
His gaze was too intense, causing a faint smile to appear on Harper's face.
However, this matter continued to weigh heavily on Harper's mind throughout the night, leaving her distracted. Her suspicions had completely engulfed her in confusion.
When Benjamin went to take a shower, she found the video of the man wearing the "M" hat who had taken Wulf's wife. Since he was carrying a suitcase, his overall appearance wasn't clear. She then opened Benjamin's phone and compared it with the video she had just watched.
Although the man in Benjamin's video was trying to disguise his gait, a person who saw him every day would still subconsciously feel familiar despite the disguise.
That was why her reaction to the video was so intense; her subconscious response made her suspect that the man might be Frank.
Squinting her eyes, her expression became extremely serious.
Was she just overthinking?
Or was this man simply similar to Frank?
Regardless of whether it was the former or the latter, she couldn't convince herself.
Just as Harper was lost in thought, the sound of water from the bathroom suddenly stopped. It was then that she snapped out of her daze and returned Benjamin's phone to its original place.
A dreamless night passed, and the next morning arrived.
