Harper's actions deepened Annie's suspicions, but seeing Harper's serious expression, Annie didn't ask further questions. She just stood quietly by her side.
After taking a photo of the hat, Harper closed the trunk. She looked at Annie and said, "Let's go see Grandma first."
Annie nodded and accompanied Harper to the floor where Eleanor's room was located.
Upon entering Eleanor's room, Harper put away all her emotions and seriousness. She smiled lightly at Eleanor and said, "Guess who I brought?"
"Is it Benjamin?" Eleanor subconsciously thought of him.
Annie came out from behind Harper and jokingly said, "Eleanor, you're really biased. Is everything about him now? What about your god-granddaughter?"
Eleanor smiled upon realizing it was Annie, her expression gentle as she invited Annie to sit down. "Come, sit here quickly. I thought you might be busy or had returned to Dattlech. But you've been in Mayby all this time. Why haven't you come to keep this old lady company?"
Annie joked, holding Eleanor's hand and looking up at Harper, "See, Eleanor has learned to bite back. Is Benjamin teaching you to misbehave?"
Both Harper and Eleanor chuckled.
Eleanor said, "I always feel lively when I see you. Do I need to learn from others?"
"Yes, so Eleanor is still the one who cares most about me."
Annie smiled and inquired about Eleanor's health again. Everything was stable now, and the surgery time had been scheduled. It would be ready in about a week.
Harper and Annie chatted with Eleanor in the ward for a long time until the nurse came in to remind Eleanor to rest and take her medication.
After Eleanor lay down, Harper and Annie finally left the ward.
Thinking about Eleanor's surgery, Annie couldn't help but ask, "Has Lauren's mother's surgery started?"
Harper shook her head, "Not yet. It seems there are other health issues, but they shouldn't be serious. Probably just preparations for surgery that are delaying it."
"Don't you think Lauren is messed up? Eleanor could have had her surgery earlier, but she insists on believing that Eleanor used her mother's matching."
Annie couldn't help but comment.
Harper simply said, "Her situation is a bit complicated, but it's none of our business, so don't worry about it."
"Well, her situation may not concern us, but your situation concerns me. Are you really not going to tell me what's going on? The car clearly wasn't sent for maintenance, but you deliberately told Frank it was, and you even took his car. That's one thing, but then you went to the trunk and took a photo of that hat. What are you hiding from me?"
Harper pondered calmly. With the hospital bustling with people, she said, "Let's go downstairs first."
At this hour, Yinson was busy, so she didn't plan to find him. Instead, they went straight to the hospital's ground floor to the coffee lounge for a rest.
