"He got caught," Colbert told her.
"Well."
As such a result was within expectation, Eudora looked impassive.
Then she hesitated, looking at Colbert. After a short silence, she said, "The one in the video... was not me."
Eudora was not good at making explanations, but she knew she must explain it to Colbert.
"I know," Colbert said gently.
"What?" She was surprised.
"There is the date on the video. I checked the hotel surveillance, finding that only Chasel and Alva appeared there that day." As he spoke, he got up to pour a glass of water, walked to the bed, and fed Eudora with a spoon.
Colbert was so thoughtful that Eudora was somewhat unaccustomed. She blinked her bright eyes, staring at him, overwhelmed with complicated emotions.
Colbert smiled tenderly. "Why are you staring at me? Drink some water."
"Colbert, thank you."
Eudora was moved.
"Stop saying thank you to me." He emphasized it again.
Eudora couldn't help laughing. "Actually, I can use a straw."
She guessed that Colbert had never taken care of anyone before, so he didn't perceive that it would be more convenient for patients to drink water with a straw.
As expected, when hearing her words, Colbert showed a fleeting embarrassment.
But he argued seriously, "You'll drink too much with a straw, so the spoon is better."
After he fed Eudora a few spoonful of water, relieving her thirst, Eudora lay on the bed, thinking about the videos exposed on the news, lost in thought.
"Let's get married secretly," Eudora suddenly proposed.
Her sudden change of attitude made Colbert stunned for a moment. He stared at Eudora without blinking, and his hand holding the glass paused in the air.
After a long while, he smiled. "I certainly want to marry you, but I prefer to make it public."
Now that Colbert was brilliant, he knew well what Eudora was thinking about.
