At eleven o'clock at noon, Eudora took the train and left Kenison City smoothly. She returned to her hometown, Maple Town, before 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
She wanted to surprise her parents, so she didn't tell them she would come home.
Back in the town, looking at the familiar place, Eudora was in a good mood. She even felt the air of her hometown was sweet.
Carrying her backpack, Eudora walked from the town to the remote village she lived in. From a distance, she saw her adoptive mother, Mildred, standing in front of the pigsty, feeding pigs with a basket of vegetables.
Seeing the scene she was familiar with but hadn't experienced in a long time, Eudora jogged, stealthily walked up behind Mildred, and then shouted, "Mom!"
Startled by the sudden call, Mildred dropped the basket of vegetables into the pigsty.
Looking back, she found that it was Eudora standing behind her.
Mildred was overjoyed. "Oh dear, Eudora, is it really you? Why didn't you tell me you will come back? I could have picked you up from town."
"Hahaha, Mom, you don't need to pick me up. It's so close."
Eudora hugged Mildred tightly. "Mom, I missed you so much. Do you and Dad miss me?"
Mildred smiled and nodded, saying, "Yes, we miss you. Your father always talks about you."
Mildred let go of Eudora and held her hand, examining her up and down. "It's only been two or three months. Why have you become so thin?"
She reached out and poked Eudora's forehead, saying, "You naughty girl, why didn't you tell me that you were coming back? Mom could have cooked some meat for you. Now that you're back, there isn't even any food at home."
