As the future heir of the Steele family, his wife must be presentable and have a certain family background that matched his status. The two of them had to be well-matched.
This was the rule.
Being scolded by Eudora, Colbert did not speak.
"Turn right ahead, Walter's Barbeque," Eudora said angrily.
The car stopped, and the two got out of the car and went straight to Walter's Barbeque.
There were hardly any customers at one o'clock in the morning.
The two sat outside, casually ordered some dishes and two bottles of beer, and started eating and drinking.
Colbert had never been to such a simple roadside stall. In fact, he always felt they were too unhygienic, dirty even.
However, for some reason, he did not feel that way right now.
It was as if everything was amazing and beautiful as long as the person sitting in front of him was Eudora.
Eudora opened two bottles of beer, handed Colbert one, took another herself, raised her head, and started drinking.
"Beer is tasteless. Sir, give us two bottles of hard liquor."
Eudora muttered displeasedly. She was probably upset because of Colbert.
The owner of the barbeque responded and brought over a few bottles of liquor.
Colbert drank with Eudora, but after only one sip, he found that the low-quality liquor tasted acrid and unpalatable.
However, he was not picky about it and continued to drink with Eudora silently.
