Lin Yu’s expression looked off. He felt a little on edge when Shi Nuan stared at him in that manner, but he still replied, “Oh, it’s nothing. I tried getting in touch with her lately, but she seemed busy all the time. Perhaps she just didn’t see my texts?”

Shi Nuan examined Lin Yu’s expression as she spoke. She realized that he looked grimmer than she had ever seen before, and that made her certain that she had guessed right. Hence, she continued, “I heard from Yian that she met a couple of pretty amazing men. They’re not ridiculously rich, but they are still successful individuals. “Did you say Yian is currently into a guy?” asked Lin Yu as his face darkened.

“I don’t know if she’s into him because I’ve never met the guy before. Yian probably just meant that she will try developing a rapport and a relationship with him. If she later falls for the guy, Song Rongrong and I will go check the dude out for her. We’re all besties, after all,” shared Shi Nuan.

Lin Yu didn’t actually hear what Shi Nuan said after that. All he knew was that Su Yian was seeing someone, and it looked like the woman was rather into the guy.

“Isn’t it a little irresponsible of her to be with someone despite not having feelings for one another?”

“But it’s not like people can fall in love at first sight all the time, right? Most fell in love after hanging out with one another and developing a rapport. Yian is not a young lady anymore. She should explore and try hanging out with an ideal guy. If they later fall in love then great, but if not, they can just break up. Isn’t that how the current society works?” asked Shi Nuan.

“Oh, so any capable man will do, then?”

“Uh… Mr. Lin, aren’t you getting a little too excited? I mean, isn’t it great that Yian found someone she could be with? Shouldn’t you be happy for her?” asked Shi Nuan as she stared strangely at Lin Yu.

“I… Well…” murmured Lin Yu awkwardly. He didn’t know what was wrong with himself. All he knew was that his interaction with Su Yian had lessened lately, and at first, he thought that he could get used to it. As time passed, Lin Yu found himself in a daze and uncomfortable. It felt like something was missing in his life.

A few days ago, Lin Yu went out of the country to go on a business trip. He bought some souvenirs for Su Yian, so he called and texted her about it. However, Su Yian never responded to anything.

Lin Yu also went to look for Su Yian in person, but he didn’t get to see her either. That was why Lin Yu initiated that conversation with Shi Nuan to test the waters. The former never expected Shi Nuan to give him news that shocking.

Shi Nuan hurried over and handed the work-related documents to Fu Chengyan. She thought he wanted to check the progress of the project, so she offered the documents to him. “Here.”

Fu Chengyan put the documents aside and pulled Shi Nuan into his arms before asking, “What got you so happy?”
