Chapter 1204
Cornelia chuckled, not giving a response.
Patricia mistakenly thought that Cornelia had chosen to quit her job, unaware that it was actually Marcus who had asked her to leave.
Marcus’ excuse was that he wanted Cornelia to focus on her own work. Cornelia once said she wanted to stay by his side, to work with him, but he didn't want her in his work environment.
Back in her room, Cornelia was no longer sleepy. She stared at the ceiling, her eyes wide open.
A myriad of images flashed through her mind. From the first time she met Marcus, to working with him, to him protecting her at the risk of offending his partners. Every moment with him was as clear as a film.
The Marcus Cornelia knew was definitely not a man who would betray his marriage. Cornelia didn't want to think too much. The more she thought about certain things, the worse she felt. She wanted to ask Marcus directly and tell him her thoughts straight away.
So, she took out her phone and dialed Marcus’ number. The phone rang and was picked up almost immediately. Before the other party could speak, Cornelia blurted out, "Jeremy, I like you! I really, really like you! Come home early today, I want to have a serious chat with you."
After she said this, Tahlia's voice came through the phone, "Nelly, it's me. President Hartley is reviewing an important document and doesn't have time to take the call, so he asked me to answer it for him.
Cornelia was speechless.
Tahlia added, "If you don't have anything else, I'm going to hang up."
