Chapter 1236
Comelia’s eyes welled up with tears, “Thank you, Granny Luisa.”
Gently patting Cornelia’s head, Granny Luisa said, “Silly girl, didn’t we agree long ago that whatever happens between you and Marc wouldn’t affect our relationship?”
“Yeah” Cornelia nodded
Granny Luisa then turned to Patricia, “Mare isn’t worth a damn, it’s fine if Nelly broke up with him. From now on, you take good care of Nelly here”
Patricia nodded, “Don’t worry. I’ll do my best to look after Nelly”
Only then did Granny Luisa feel relieved, ‘Hmm Nelly, I guess I’ll be off then.”
“Til walk you out,” Comelia offered.
“No need, dear, I have people with me, and my personal doctor and nurse are waiting for me downstairs. You should go back to your things.”
Cornelia said, “Take care, Granny. After Granny Rebecca’s verdict. I’ll come visit you”
“Alright.”
After bidding goodbye to Granny Luisa, Comelia went back to her room to pack up.
She planned to change into a more formal outfit for court. While changing, she found a delicate jewelry box in her drawer. Inside the box was a necklace, a gift from Marcus called Heavenly Radiance, worth thirty million dollars.
Upon seeing the necklace, she was reminded of the first time she wore it. That day, she sat in the car, and Marcus held the necklace, and kept staring at it. His gaze was so intense that it seemed like he wanted to swallow her whole. Suddenly, he made a move, slipping it around her neck, leaving a huge red hickey…
Cornelia sneered, taking the jewelry box and putting it in her bag, planning to return the necklace to Marcus later.
Anything he gifted her, she wouldn’t keep. Thankfully, Marcus didn’t give her many things, so she didn’t need to take special time to deal with them.
After packing, Zack drove Cornelia and Abigail to court. Abigail held Cornelia’s hand tightly, wanting to say something several times but couldn’t. They had grown up together and knew each other very well.
