Jilted Ex-wife Billionaire Heiress novel Chapter 51

Chapter 51 Negotiation

Felicia’s gaze fell on Avery’s arm linked with Darya’s.

The two of them seemed to be the centre of everyone’s attention.

Felicia caught snippets of the conversation between Darya and the president of an energy company.

Darya was comparing the pros and cons of lithium tungsten batteries with those of zincmanganese oxide

batteries.

Felicia could barely follow the topic, but she did not miss the look of admiration in the president’s eyes.

How does she do it?Talia whispered to a girlfriend of hers. First Micah, and now Avery. I’ve heard she’s also involved with Timothy Barrett. What do you think the men see in her?

You mean, other than her looks? Her friend sneered. She’s probably a good lay.

The two of them exchanged a look and giggled.

Hearing this, Felicia felt slightly better.

Her friends were right.

Darya Miller was just a scheming social climber who was trying to sleep her way to the top.

There was no reason to be jealous of her.

Once she lost her looks, she’d be cast aside by the men like trash.

Felicia sipped her champagne, smiling.

Meanwhile, Darya didn’t even notice her exsisterinlaw was at the same party.

She had gradually made her way into a private room to the left of the ballroom.

Reece Cooke sat in an armchair with a lit cigar in hand, sizing her up.

Thank you for the gift.He nodded towards the gilt wooden box Darya produced.

It contained a gold longevity lock for Reece’s newborn son and was handmade by a famed jewelsmith who’d long since retired.

Reece had tried to place an order with the jewelsmith last month but was politely declined.

As soon as he saw the jewelsmith’s name embossed on the box, he agreed to take the private meeting with

Darya.

It wasn’t the gift that impressed him.

It was the connections that Darya must have to pull off something even he couldn’t manage.

Chapter 51 Negotiation

He liked making friends with people who could get things done.

Reece set aside his cigar. I know who you are, and I know why you requested this meeting, I’ve read the proposal from the Paragon Group. I have to say, it’s a good proposal.

Darya smiled.

But before she could speak, Reece said, I’m afraid I can’t agree to it.

Frowning, Darya assessed the look on Reece’s face.

He wasn’t joking.

But neither did it look like he was unhappy with her.

If it’s about the shares, we can always negotiate, she offered. The proposal’s not final.”

She had done her homework before coming to the party.

Reece had received a lot of offers for collaboration, but none of them had the financial strength nor distribution channels that Paragon had.

She was confident she could clinch the deal today.

It’s not about the shares.Reece took a puff of his fat cigar. In fact, I’m impressed by the rather generous of an even stock split.

offer

The proposals he got from other companies usually mentioned a forty/sixty split, with Reece taking forty per cent of the profit.

Reece turned his head towards the door when he heard a knock. Here comes the reason.

Darya turned around when Reece’s assistant opened the door.

Her eyes widened when she saw Micah strolling inside.

She spun around. Mr Cooke, you’ve decided to work with Zenith?

Darya’s heart sank, but her face betrayed nothing.

Reece stood up. Miss Miller, you’ve misunderstood. I’m not turning down your proposal. I just want to make some amendments.

He shook hands with Micah. I would like to turn the joint venture into a tripartite collaboration.

You want me to work with him?Darya asked.

Reece nodded.

May I ask why?Darya tried not to look at Micah. Your company has the technology. Paragon has the capital and distribution. To be frank, I don’t see what we could gain by adding Zenith to the mix. If you are worried about funding, I can reassure you, the project with Solaro has priority status inside Paragon. I could set up a meeting with our CFO if you’d like. I really hate to see a situation of too many cooks spoiling the broth.Reece inclined his head. I agree with you. I have every confidence in Paragon’s financial strength.

Darya waited for the but.
