Chloe glanced at Joseph with a puzzled expression, "Are you trying to take advantage of me again?"
Joseph smirked mischievously, offering no response. After all, who would be trying to take advantage of whom was still uncertain.
Chloe insisted on leaving and clumsily made her way downstairs, but she tripped over her own feet and almost tumbled forward. Luckily, Joseph had been following her closely and he caught her in his arms. She instinctively hooked her arms around his neck, feeling weightless as she fell into his embrace.
She sighed in relief and murmured, "What happened to my legs?"
Joseph looked down at her, feeling the softness of her touch. His heart skipped a beat and he leaned closer to her ear. His voice was husky as he whispered, "Are you offering yourself to me?"
When his warm breath brushed against her neck, it sent shivers down her spine. It was as if all her strength had been drained and she melted into his arms. Her eyes reddened at the sensation, but she mustered the strength to push him away. "I'm doing no such thing."
Joseph held her hand, feeling the coolness of her touch clash with his own warmth. Suddenly, she stopped resisting him. In fact, she wanted to get closer to him.
"Stay here for the night, okay?"Joseph said, petting her head while trying his best to keep the monster inside him in check.
The item Jasper had brought back should be harmless, but he could not guarantee anything. He needed to call a doctor to watch over Chloe for the night.
As desire clouded her mind and Chloe felt her body heat up. She could not think straight anymore and just nodded. "Okay…"
Joseph picked Chloe up and carried her to the bedroom, gently placing her on the bed. He then went to the bathroom to get a wet towel. He gently and attentively wiped her down.
Jasper was standing at the door, his eyebrows deeply creased. "Daddy, how’s Ms. Chloe?"
"Go to your room," Joseph said without turning his head.
"I'm sorry, Daddy. I shouldn't have done this…"
That drink was a scam! How were they supposed to foster their relationship if they were asleep? He should not have trusted Timothy. He was always foolish. Maybe hanging out with Timothy had made him dumber too.
