Let Me Go, My Mafia Husband (Aria and Alessandro) novel Chapter 616

Chapter 616 Mate's Dilemma
*Zander*

I couldn’t believe she was in my arms, and the spark that ignited confirmed what my heart—and Lyon—had been screaming all along: she was my mate. My mate. She was so close, I could almost hear the rhythm of her heartbeat. The way she shivered and gasped at my touch only cemented the truth—she felt it too. The spark. The undeniable pull between us. Only mates could react this way to a single touch.

But confusion clouded my mind. If she was truly my mate, then what was Avery? Why had I married her?

Now, here was this woman, the queen of this realm, ruling not just her people but also my heart. Yet, I didn’t even know her name because she hadn’t told me. And to top it off, she dropped another bombshell—we were married, a fact I had no memory of. She sounded annoyed that I had forgotten her, which only made things worse.

How could this be possible? No one had ever mentioned I’d been married twice. Sure, maybe I had forgotten, but was it really possible that everyone else—my family, my pack—had also forgotten her? Everyone only remembered Avery as my wife.

This whole situation was maddening, and this mysterious woman now seemed even more enigmatic. What in the hell was going on?

"Married or not, it doesn't matter if you forgot so easily," she murmured, her voice laced with disappointment. There it was again—the same thing she kept repeating. What reaction was she expecting from me? Constantly pushing my buttons, reminding me of a past I couldn’t recall as if I’d chosen to forget her.

"Then enlighten my memory," I said, my voice carrying a challenging edge.

I stood firm, waiting for her to do something—anything. I’d heard tales about the residents of the Lunar Realm, their magic, their ability to weave illusions and manipulate the very air around them. But now, more than ever, I needed clarity.

Was she real? Was this all an elaborate game to play with my mind? Or was there truth buried beneath the layers of mystery she refused to unveil?

"Alpha Zander, please let me go," she whispered, her voice breathless, matching the way I felt holding her in my arms. Every fiber of my being screamed at me to lose control, to show her what it meant to have an Alpha mate.

"If someone comes, you'll be in great trouble," she warned, though her resolve was clearly weakening with each passing second, her eyes betraying her hesitation.

"Who would dare trouble the Queen's mate?" I murmured, cupping her face gently in my hand. My gaze fell to her lips—soft, red, so plump and tempting. I licked my own lips unconsciously as I leaned in, unable to hold back anymore. I had to taste what was mine.

I was further encouraged when she didn’t resist. Her eyes fluttered shut, her soft lips parting as a sigh escaped, brushing warmly against my lips. She wanted this too—I could feel it.

But just as my lips were about to meet hers, the door suddenly burst open. The high priestess stormed in with guards, their urgent steps echoing ominously through the floor.
